And Steyer didn't just show up, give a speech, and leave. He made time to meet with local environmental activists of all ages — high schoolers, college students, and fearless grandmothers.
My UCSB students came to meet him and left impressed. These young people found him inspiring.
Unsurprisingly, Steyer was great on climate. He's been working on these issues for decades and got into lots of specifics. Here's a short video I made with his 4-point plan:
1) Polluters pay
2) Environmental justice
3) Deploy clean tech
4) Support nature
In Iowa, so many people still have their head in the sand about the effects of #climate change reaching into every part of life. They may think climate change isn't a problem, but the insurance industry does! Enjoy the increases.
So, someone is spending billions to teach bugs how to eat spilled oil, huh? Here's a better idea: stop our addiction to fossil fuels before the only living organism on our planet is the oil-eating microbes. There are many better ways to power the planet that don't kill us. My ideas are free.
Sadly, this is not new news. The courts have been closed to #climate action for years. It is an infection spreading from the top down. Time to take the judiciary apart and rebuild it to one that understands the law of nature.
Golly, when they spent a few billion bucks on that sunken gate system in Venice, you think they would have asked if it would actually work without killing the city. Now it is a walled-off pond destined to die in the era of rising seas. Why not stop emitting?

Today the media, Generals, and politicians are calling these guys fighter pilots and the planes 'fighters'...but all of these are bombers on bombing runs.
