If you’re curious, here’s the original after the Seestar’s AI denoise.

Last night was so clear (and cold) so I spent a couple hours on the Seestar with M104, the Sombrero Galaxy.

Its apparent size is quite small in the sky so it’s quite cropped and still a bit fuzzy as a result.

Awesome, see you on the trail!

Extremely funny for me to sign up for this bc I stopped running when I started lifting so I wasn’t even sure I could do 3mi anymore, but I just did one of those tread-only OrangeTheory classes (my one and only concession to training) and did 4 whole miles! I might make it to the finish line!

Oooh I love that!

I’ve never had chocolate tahini but I already know I would love that. I’m so sad that Saku Saku closed in my neighborhood with my favorite tahini cookies. I used to buy those for myself and everyone I knew.

A field of stars with about a dozen galaxies strewn about, both side-on disks and more puffy elliptical galaxies.

This looks like just a star field at first but if you embiggen you’ll see Markarian’s Chain, a whole bunch of galaxies in the Virgo Cluster. You can see several disks and more star-looking, puffy elliptical galaxies.

Taken with my SeeStar S30 for about 90 minutes last night.

Hey that’d be great! Let me know if it’s this one and we can high five at the finish line

Ha, yes, that does seem more logical, though I’m doing a birthday brunch the next day due to scheduling challenges.

There’s a farmers market in my mom neighborhood once a week from the afternoon to early evening and I am very jealous about it.

I thought @yoner.bsky.social only achieved faster-than-walking speeds on two wheels but yes he should join! (Yonas I will not make you “run” with me.)

Ok I convinced myself to sign up. If anyone wants to get up at 6am on a Saturday to eat "free" bagels and run through some trees, it's this race organized by the Rock Creek Conservancy.

Don't forget to yell "happy birthday" as you blast by me on the trail!

I only have like two friends who would even consider running any more and one of them is out of town and the other hasn’t answered my texts yet lol

Do I want to run a 5K on my birthday even though I barely run anymore, just because it's in Rock Creek Park and seems like it might be a way to kick off forty-<COUGH> with some good vibes? (Or a sprained ankle?)

The level of science communication we’ve had throughout this mission, from everyone at Houston to the astronauts, has been stellar.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.

Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

Welcome home, Integrity crew!
