Lately (in Vancouver) and for the first time, I’ve seen hummingbirds fighting. It is both thrilling and disturbing.

I thought you meant Archie Goodwin from the Nero Wolfe mysteries until I saw the comic. Maybe the name is cursed.

They believe when convenient: the predictable arc of a missile, the instant reach of social media, the mysteries of the blockchain. Oh yes, they can believe.

That’s a nice novel you got there. Be a shame if somebody prologued it.

Hey, It's my 70th birthday tomorrow, so my reverse gift is dropping the price of Luck: A Science Fiction comedy to 99 cents from March 26-April 2! If you like absurdist space operas full of naked corporate greed, vanishing planets, programmed love, and malicious coincidence, please buy my book!

Seems to me that a noir city of any kind is what remains after you take out the nice stuff (honour, hope, generosity). So the name shouldn't be "nice" either. Something like 'Durst' or 'Cratt' makes more sense to me, though maybe the contrast between a beautiful name and an ugly city works.

I'm voting for "I Lost on Jeopardy". Mainly because I grew up watching Art Fleming and listening to Don Pardo.

Money or indifference, take your pick. Maybe it was the same impulse to insult that made Anne of Green Gables a blonde on the cover of one notorious ebook.

And later, much later, all they found was a crushed pork-pie hat and a bloody nose ring.

There was an episode of Night Gallery called "The Doll" which was creepy enough. The final scene was oddly both terrifying and gratifying – a nice combination to pull off.

Went to the Ghibli museum in October and saw all the character and background studies on the walls. Just amazing to see the evolution of ideas.
