That was a fun time, thanks for sharing! Cool that there's some actual speedrun strats too!

To this day I am still astonished by how much I *loved* 17776 (a.k.a. "What Football Will Look Like in the Future"). If anyone out there hasn't seen it yet, head to www.sbnation.com/a/17776-foot...
ICYMI, A Little Perspective is out now! Just a couple more days to grab it with a 10% discount.

Distribution of # of games (with unique titles) uploaded per github account. And/or, distribution of # of games that share the same author name.
I'm interested in lots of things! :)
Upload date distribution, number of levels distribution, most common words in titles (maybe of de-duplicated titles), level size disribution, most common sprites (maybe hashing could be helpful here)

I had the pleasure of playtesting the entirety of A Little Perspective, and it's a mind-bending game that explores soooo many deep consequences of its system! I had a blast playing it! Its a very well-crafted game!
It's out now!! Pick it up!! :)
Absolutely essential long read here from @dominguezf.bsky.social about the relationship between gambling and videogames — not just gacha and loot boxes, but engagement tactics, addiction by design, “the machine zone,” and of course, roguelikes that leverage the lure of traditional gambling games.
I really like this version! :) The figure 8 motion was intuitive to me, I like the click feedback, and seeing what color I'm currently hover over!
Agreed that 2x speed sounds good to try out!
Nice! I prefer the first one, it feels easier to me to select exact pixels, and I also like how the artwork doesn't ever get obscured.
I do see the point about discoverability. Maybe some visual feedback on the cursor when you tap could help, like little particles, or the cursor "presses down"?
I'm happy for y'all that the game is so well received! It's a fantastic game! :)
I did a game jam adapting I Wanna Be The Guy fangame precision platformer mechanics into a sokoban puzzle game!
I had a fun time adapting the mechanics and cranking out 22 puzzles exploring them. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! :)

I've had the pleasure of doing a little playtesting of He Who Watches, and the 3D locomotion and gravity changing is oh so satisfying and leads to lots of interesting puzzles!
Check out the demo and keep it on your radar! :) Exciting that Draknek & Friends is publishing now!
The Experimental Games Showcase team goes through over a hundred submissions every year to narrow down the dozen you see onstage at GDC. It’s a HARD choice.
If you want to see some of the games we couldn’t fit into the showcase, this reel features a handful of some of our favorite submissions!
I made a Baba shaped puzzle in Artisan of Glimmith! :)

Blown away by this showcase today, everything in it is so fascinating and inspiring. I wanna make more games that are like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og6_...
Do you, small / solo dev, know if your game is in IGF this year? No, do you REALLY? Have you asked your publisher? I unfortunately must relay to you that I can name three examples this year of high-profile IGF 2025 games that were submitted either: By the indie’s publisher, without informing the developer at all By the indie’s publisher’s externally contracted PR firm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you want to know why this is a FUCKING BAD IDEA? Here’s an example of a thing that happened this year: Judge: Hi! I’m having some technical issues with the build. Could you help me out? PR Company who submitted: We’ll get in touch with the developer and get back to you. — *THREE WEEKS OUT OF THE 1 MONTH JUDGING PERIOD PASS* — Judge: Hello????? Judging is almost over. Is everything okay? PR Company who submitted: We’ll have an updated build for you when the game comes out [note: That’s gonna be after judging is over] Result: Your game has wasted its opportunity completely.
Now that IGF and GDC is over I finally got around to writing up my postscript on IGF submissions and some of the issues we ran into in 2025. If you plan to submit your game in 2026 I recommend reading this, tbh. auratriolo.com/blog/2026/03...

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Thinky Game Devs Meetup on Wednesday! It was lovely getting to see you all! And a big shoutout to @mdashow.bsky.social, Nick, and @cwpat.me for their help with organizing!
I'll be at GDC this year! If you're going too, let's meet up! :)
And I'm very much looking forward to the thinky game devs meetup on Wednesday! If you do anything thinky, be sure to come on by!!
I loved playing Oeuf, its levels play a lot more with the geometry of the egg shape than you'd think possible and it's perfect at building suspense and then releasing it. The music is great and the game feels very mysterious. The level editor is lots of fun and multiplayer is well implemented!
Oeuf, Stephen's egg platformer, is out! I enjoyed playing the demo, it has a moody atmosphere and interesting platforming with the asymmetric egg shape! If you like platformers, check it out!
for folks coming to the Game Developers Conference this week - plz come to our session. it's gonna be another great one this year schedule.gdconf.com/session/expe...
