Floor crossing is a feature, not a bug, of our system. Party leaders already have too much control over individual MPs. Removing floor crossing would exacerbate that. There is nothing inherently unethical about a floor crossing and it’s short sighted to label it such.

And yet, for Americans on election day, the only choices were Trump or Harris. Those who said neither and didn’t vote helped pave the way for Trump. That is reality.
