And yet after that defeat Napoleon had a victory at Austerlitz and was able to maintain his leadership for several more years (and commission an arch). Some of these terrible figures just have an ability to survive.

Hahaha. First class deflection. Well done.

Very true. Just be ready to be called on it when it makes no sense.

Can you be a bit more specific? Are you talking about Civil Rights? Medicare?

I guess you’ve never heard of charging? Textbook call

Nah. I’m saying he’s whining.

Surely you’re not talking about that double minor? That was always a high sticking penalty. Control your stick has been the mantra for decades.

Dems anti-tariff? I think you need to read more.

Just remembering the prevailing view at Queen’s University, which while there were a range of views, was most commonly free market.

That’s not what I remember from my economics classes in the late 70’s. Far from it.

So do you think the Reagan policies are working? Or is it time for some fundamental changes?

You’re changing the subject. This is not a discussion of FPTP or women’s suffrage.

Floor crossing is a feature, not a bug, of our system. Party leaders already have too much control over individual MPs. Removing floor crossing would exacerbate that. There is nothing inherently unethical about a floor crossing and it’s short sighted to label it such.

Tbh, I tried this a couple of years ago, and it was ok. But not something I was anxious to try again. To each their own.

Moron blames people in other countries for what his own country, the most powerful on earth, is doing. Typical deflection. Give your head a shake.

Completely moot point. Trump will do it regardless of what Biden did or didn’t do. And he’ll do it with zero consequences because just about everything (legal system, legislature, press) in the US are compromised or not working effectively. And seem likely to stay that way.

And yet, for Americans on election day, the only choices were Trump or Harris. Those who said neither and didn’t vote helped pave the way for Trump. That is reality.

Just that you need to take ownership of the choices you make. If you can look in the mirror and say you did the right thing by not voting, and are comfortable that that helped Trump become President, then fine.

I am. Or is your point that ICE has been operating exactly the same way under Trump as it did under Biden?

2 weeks ago 2 0 1 0

I’m Canadian. I didn’t choose either. I just know the world would be a safer place if Harris had been elected rather than Trump. It’s not that difficult a choice.

So this is what you would say to the families of people who have died in ICE custody in the past year? “Sorry, but I had other priorities “. If you can live with that, that’s on you. But the world’s a complex place.

I expect that people who make the effort to attend the protests are most likely to be voters as well. The question is about the 33% who didn’t vote last time - i doubt many of them showed up to protest.

I think waking up at a reasonable hour deserves mention

I think you are correct, most of the time. But not 100% of the time. For example, I’d have given anyone who cheered Hitler’s death a pass. So perhaps it’s a matter of just how bad you think someone has been for their fellow humans. Not comparing him, but Trump makes my list. Go ahead and cheer.

Did you consider that you’re being played? Which would actually be pretty nice, too.

165 Canadians, including 158 soldiers died in Afghanistan. Hard to know if Stephens sees that as moderately helpful or just symbolic. It’s impossible to look at the US with anything other than rage.

When Americans keep electing these leaders who lie to them, all the time, one is left to draw the conclusion that they want to be lied to.
