On Thursday afternoon, the NPA Technical Theatre candidates travelled to @rcsofficial.bsky.social to watch the play ‘Let the Right One In’ to analyse the technical elements of a performance as part of the course.

To celebrate his artistry, we share two historic moments: an interview in which he reflects on his work in the Star Wars film scores, and a performance of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring with Leonard Bernstein and the London Symphony Orchestra.
He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy and impact on the profession are beyond doubt. The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will dedicate the Percussion Department concert on 1 December to his memory.

Just announced: The Write Start 2025 winner and runner-up! Congratulations to winner Katherine Low, second-year Filmmaking student, and runner-up Angelique Celine, second-year MA Music Psychology in the Arts student and Musical Theatre graduate, who will see their creative projects come to life!
3/3. In due course, we will remember and celebrate David’s life and his contribution to RCS more fully. For now, our immediate thoughts are with his loved ones, in particular his two sons.
