oh i did use lemon juice and water! but the russet variety i used for the shiny typhlosion (golden russet i think?) browns so fast, i ended up dunking it in lemon water after every cut. i did the granny smith one first and that one holds up much better, is easier to carve, and tastes better imo

i removed the peel from the red and yellow apple slices and cut flame shapes into em, then i cut a small slit into the back so i could stack the flames and insert em. if you then dunk it into cold water, the ears and fur tufts and flames will start curling up a bit if you cut them thin enough

i then made the ears and fur tufts at the back using a similar technique to when you make bunny apples, cutting just beneath the peel towards the head (stem end), and then carved out the rest of the body using those as reference points. i ended up using a paring knife and a toothpick for this

oh since some people asked me since there isn't a guide, i used granny smith and egremont russet apples for the main bodies, and gala and ambrosia for the flames. i cut em in eighths and put em in lemon water to stop browning. i then cut a piece off the blossom end so it could stand upright

made some typhlosion apples for the first time
