Greetings from Chaguaramas, Trinidad! We left Deale, Maryland 214 days and 3,315 nautical miles ago to reach what is likely the most southern point of our journey. Today we raised a courtesy flag in Love & Luck’s 12th country. #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats

I don’t know what a BBQ donut is, but I’d be game to try. #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats
Also in Saint Pierre, walked through the cathedral and cemetery. Then we spent time at the waterfront Rasta Festival with live music, 50+ artisan booths and street food.
Saint Pierre, Martinique is an amazing town! We visited a museum dedicated to the 1902 eruption of Mount Pelee that destroyed the town, visited ruins of the 1800s theater and prison (one inmate was the only survivor who didn’t/couldn’t flee).
Salutations de Saint-Pierre, Martinique! We had a beautiful 15 hour sail to Love & Luck’s 10th country (3rd French flag). The wind was perfect, the sky was clear, the sea was calm. Just an amazing night. #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats
Groeten uit Sint Maarten! This one is a little less impressive. We motored 9 nautical miles from Saint Martin (French side) to Sint Maarten (Dutch side). We still had to do all of the paperwork for a new country and raised Love & Luck’s 8th courtesy flag. #cruising #liveaboard #huntersailboats
Today’s activities not pictured: cleaned both heads, swept and mopped cabin, swept and mopped cockpit, scrubbed the entire waterline, changed water maker filter, balanced on the boom to replace wire chafe guards, replaced split rings on the lifeline.

Yesterday’s transportation on Anegada, BVI: scooter! We explored the island, saw flamingos, and visited Loblolly Beach and Cow Wreck Breach. Great day! #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingbvi #cruisingbvi
When your dinner was swimming a few hours ago. Amazing grilled lobster in Anegada, BVI! #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingbvi #cruisingbvi
Whatever the next deeper cleaning project is - wiping down walls with vinegar/water solution, polishing/waxing stainless, etc. If I have grocery access, I also like to try to ‘break’ the recipe and recreate some island dish we enjoyed in a restaurant.

Good times in Ensenada Honda, Isla Culebra, Puerto Rico! Hector the Protector, an up cycled wood sculpture; business hours don’t really exist; and a fun @dinghydockbar. #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingpuertorico

The 0400 wake up was rough, but we were rewarded with a smooth motor from Boqueron to La Purguera before the wind and the seas kicked up, and a nice view of the Cabo Rojo Light. #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingpuertorico
Greetings from Boqueron, Puerto Rico! Sailing Achievement Unclocked: 26 hours across the Mona Passage, a tricky bit of water between Hispanola and Puerto Rico that connects the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. This morning we raised Love & Luck’s fourth courtesy flag.
El Parque Nacional Los Haitises, Dominican Republic. This place is unreal. #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingdominicanrepublic
Mangu - a traditional Dominican Republic breakfast of mashed plantains with pickled red onion, fried cheese, egg, and salami (more like an American smoked sausage than American salami). Delicious! #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #sailingdominicanrepublic
Pressure canning chicken stock after an amazing (and inexpensive) visit to the butcher in Luperón. But it’s hot! I need my “emotional support fan”. I move this fan around the boat with me all day long. cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats

For about 13 years, Steve’s daily driver was an F250 high top conversion van. I described it as “driving your grandmother’s living room around town.” This is what tour busses look like in DR - Grandma’s living room, complete with frilly curtains! #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife

There isn’t a self serve option, and I was more than happy to outsource our laundry to Lydia. So there it is, skivvies and all, drying in the middle of town. 🤣 #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingdominicanrepublic
Yo, America - 165 pesos ($2.62)
Don’t miss 27 Charcos (waterfalls) in the Dominican Republic! (Please excuse Steve’s first GoPro attempt 🤣) #cruising #cruisinglife #liveaboard #liveaboardlife #liveaboardsailboat #huntersailboats #sailingdominicanrepublic
Today’s transportation - thanks for the loaner SV Sixth Girl! We rode up the mountains near Luperon and found the cheese shop. Tonight, we’re celebrating Mardi Gras with red beans and rice in a Dominican bar/restaurant owned by an Austrian woman who sailed in a decade ago and never left.
