BRING IT!
We were close at one time, but the anti-vax movement at the time with people like Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy killing it through disinformation.

I’m looking at the people going 20mph over the speed limit on little country roads in California with no regard for cyclists ☹️
Somehow I ALSO want to see a Waymo do some no-holds-barred moves trained on aggressive stunt driving.
I’m so ready for cars controlled by computers as opposed to cars controlled by human feelings
I wish that Apple AI instead of giving us Genmoji just translated text descriptions into standard emoji strings, which is really the hard part.

I’m having a very Country Living morning as I haul an armload of 24lb of ice upstairs.
Pistachios are a luxury food in my mind and their commodity-style presence is making me feel uneasy.
I’ve loved pistachios for years and am going to be very sad when the trade war surplus disappears as another forgotten fad. At the same time I wonder whether we are at peak pistachio yet??
Breaking: our new study just published shows that a stable or strengthening ocean current into the Nordic Seas is not a sign of a stable Atlantic overturning #AMOC. On the contrary, it is a physically expected result of an AMOC weakening. 🌊

Got the Tunnan! 💪
In my case I feel like it’s so self-inflicted too. Just years of asking my eyes to us only 10-20” of focus range, ugh.

24 1-gallon jugs of water illuminated in a chest freezer
Faced with a scheduled power outage 8a-5p tomorrow, I am charging my thermal batteries. I am hoping that 24gal of water should keep 2 freezers and a refrigerator cold for long enough..!

I read it some years ago and it’s helped me understand a lot of current events
Oooo up right now at Sun n Fun
I’ve started a new morning routine where I go for a 1mi walk around the block and look at the flowers and trees to try to give my far-distance vision a chance before I start a long day of looking at a flat plane right in front of my face and now I can’t stand looking at my phone… that’s a win.
Caught it thanks!!

(Once he came to visit MIT while I was an undergrad. He asked a whole bunch of very directed questions about riding on top of elevators and then saw a POV LED project I was working on and very memorably began gyrating with them.)
Where was gondry?
The urbanist view I mostly keep quiet:
Yes, bikes give you the freedom that car ads promise, but only walking lets people wear the sassy outfits that are 65% of the fun of city life.
Staring at vintage Comme Des Garçons skirts wilting in my closet as I put on Takeo pants again.
(I do also love & miss greater LA and the LA cycling community — one of my longest bike rides to date is still my Glendale-Long Beach ride along the LA River)
Oh come on Bay Area - we can’t let *Los Angeles* have better bicycle technology than us. What does it take to get these??
And this is the full 7 min film that goes with it. Never change MA/TW.
