Truly. The floor was tiled so they had to pretty much take it up to be able to get at the pipes.

Long story short, my neighbors reported a leak and we share the plumbing stack so they needed access to my apartment too to get in there and fix it.
...truth.
Indeed. For fuck's sake.
All I could think was that I really, really should have made a pit stop before leaving work.
They finally got back to me and I have a functioning toilet again but that was unnecessarily tense.
Maintenance has arrived to reinstall my toilet. Apparently they were going to replace it, but the new one wasn't delivered on time? idek
They really kind of are! And it's after five! No one is picking up in the leasing office! I am somewhat distressed!
Positive: My bathroom has a linoleum floor now, which is better than not having any flooring at all.
Negative: My toilet is sitting in the bathtub. This is a single-bathroom apartment.
Yeah, it's very much a "Thanks guys" kind of feeling.
In/deed/.
I could have done without it tbh
Indeed! I am thrilled!
How exciting, they're retiling my bathroom floor.
I discovered this by coming home and seeing the bare, torn-up underfloor where the tile used to be.
I am still incredibly proud of this line.
screencap of a tweet with a photo at the bottom of JD Vance giving a talk, gesturing smugly with his hands Eric Daugherty • @EricLDaugh • 1h • JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO: "When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword - there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory." "In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology." "And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been - if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."
I’ve given this a great deal of thought, trying to come up with the perfect joke for this moment, and this is what I have so far -
POPE LEO: our religion teaches that this war is bad
VANCE: wow, who died and made YOU head of the Catholic Church??
POPE LEO: well, you should know, you were there
god grant me the audacity of a Catholic convert sincerely telling the Pope he’s wrong about theology
Right? Like, they were demonstrating "Sort this column into three columns" and I was deeply, deeply unimpressed. We're setting the planet on fire for this horseshit?
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yeah, it’s pretty dismal. I get there are some machine learning use cases that don’t suck but for my purposes I can make my own dang spreadsheets.
Note: I already knew that.
So far this lunch and learn is helping me learn that Copilot cannot do anything for me that I can’t already do better myself.
It’s absolutely ridiculous and yet here we are
Fighting against my brain‘s perception that the day is shot because I have an appointment at three.
My brain is winning.
I have my copy but I'm eyeing it with some trepidation. I think I can handle horror, but how gross is it going to be?
I just cleaned out a pen and converter that had been inked up with Diamine Writer's Blood, and it does indeed look like a crime scene in here now.
That is ice cold, bud.
"I'll just listen to a couple calls and then give it a try" and the first call being a thirty-minute odyssey is peak call center shenanigans, so it sounds like he got a good overview of what it's like.
Eggs on toast. You can add in whatever veg or seasoning you're in the mood for and scramble it all together in <20 minutes.
