you don't understand. as someone who isn't inherently good at art, stealing paintings from the museum is the *only* way i'm able to express myself creatively. i wouldn't be able to paint beautiful portraits. but by breaking into a museum and stealing the paintings, now i am

OH HEY FREN
Going through my annual Paul Simon 'Graceland' phase.
These days are horrifying, but they are also the days of miracle and wonder.
Never forget that.
Don't cry, baby,
don't cry x

I have 4000 screenshots on my phone. There's bound to be photos of people known by the masses in there.
The sheer scale of the project — a giant ballroom attached to the East Wing — worries preservationists. “It could do some harm to the property over all,” said a professor at George Washington University. “There aren’t any checks and balances here, unfortunately.”

No cheating. Your last saved celebrity photo is your therapist. Who is it?
[does this count lol]
Can you imagine how cool the YM magazine podcast would have been
This interview is so clear & quietly devastating. Public media as we understand it is over.
This is not about the end of NPR & PBS. They might be able to find ways to continue to make programs. Instead of content, this is about the capacity to broadcast at all - antennae, transmitters, licenses. 🧵
I just realized this didn't age well which is TOTALLY AWESOME.
I sometimes feel bad drinking purse water in case I'll get in some apocalyptic scenario where I'll need to conserve water or, like, I'll just be more thirsty later and so I delay.
Seriously what is wrong with me lmao
I'm out of town now but at home I also occasionally drink crystal light like an 80s aerobic mom lol
Yes! It does help! Ty 🙏🏻
I am so dehydrated literally all of the time. Send water intake encouragement plz.
I do NOT blame people for not coming here, but man - our tourism industry is never going to recover

Me, Xennial-splaining Interpol and The Postal Service to my Gen Z work husband:
Mr. Fetterman — who has admittedly missed several votes and hearings this year and gained a reputation for frustrating progressives and criticizing his party — told reporters Monday between votes on amendments that he just wanted to “go home.” “I've already missed our entire trip to the beach,” he said of a family vacation. “I’m going to vote no. There’s no drama … I don't think it's really helpful to put people here till some ungodly hour.” He added that the only interesting votes would be “on the margin,” by Republican senators such as Maine’s Susan Collins and others who have expressed concerns about the bill’s cuts to Medicaid or its estimated piling of almost $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next several years, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. Mr. Fetterman argued that he didn’t think Americans were “really going to be paying attention” to the dozens of amendments from Democrats doomed to fail under the Republican majority. “I don’t really think there’s a lot of dignity in it,” he told reporters.
ICYMI. Scab paper, but some pretty wild Fetterman quotes about the Big Ugly Bill:

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with this coming from columnists or commenters or protestors but it has been a known problem for years that when you describe the most extreme republican policies to the average voter, they just flat don’t believe you
Murkowski is killing me today.
"Republican Lisa Murkowski Urges House Not to Vote on Bill She Just Approved."

This just came across my desk:
"Florida and Texas accounted for more private jet flights and emissions than the entire European Union."

"In a new ad campaign launched jointly by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the NRDC Action Fund, union electricians are urging OH Senators to protect clean energy tax credits. "
I'm stunned at how this video has almost 400,000 views.

It's strange that there were no emails or communication to alumni about Coro's closing, no media, little talk in policy circles. (I have no direct info on what happened.) The lack of transparency is disappointing. Coro was pivotal on my public servant journey & enriched the Pittsburgh community.
Did the Coro Center for Civic Leadership in Pittsburgh just disappear? Did I miss any local media about it?
We are all living in the same country.

"Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year."
@PanasonicDX4500 I get that we are so far past the point where fact checking matters but it cannot be stressed enough that there's like six trans women in the entirety of college sports and like, in the name of radical transparency, they're mostly not even good. america imploded almost a century of unrivaled global hegemony to stop a hypothetical trans woman from coming off the bench for a volleyball team in the metro atlantic.
