That is so sick to hear because Martian Gothic is a huuuge inspiration for this project!

Heartworm is 25% off in the steam Spring sale, if you haven't played yet what better time than now???

since the [redscted] spring sale is happening I might as well report this

I started Heartworm alone, and I had no expectations to have it go beyond that, but by the end it was touched by a number of people. For future projects I want to make sure everyone is credited as they deserve, so I've started The Attic Door - an independent collective making games that linger.

Key art for the video game Heartworm. It shows a girl holding a camera. She is standing in front of a red-cloaked figure. They appear to be in a graveyard within a forest.

i've now played all the 2025 games i've wanted to play, and @adinolfi.bsky.social's Heartworm is the game i want to replay over and over again.

absolutely loved it from start to finish, would highly recommend.

Sometimes I wish HW had more mass appeal, but I have to remind myself that so much of the movies, games, music, etc. I enjoy the most are those that make me feel crazy thinking about how the rest of the world isn’t constantly singing their praises. Like when I watch a low budget/indie movie with a lot of obvious heart and after it ends I’m excited and go on letterboxd only to see it averaged at 2.5 stars. Or discover a beautiful song from a band that existing for a blip in time 20 years ago that barely exists on the internet now. And it hurts to think about people spending so much time and effort on making things that only a small number of people will appreciate, but on the audience side I truly do feel like my life is so much better with these things in it. I feel like they were made for me. As much as I wish there was a way everyone who creates could feel the value of their work, I know our world is not set up for that. But then I guess they do know in some sense, because they keep making - in spite of it all. And that’s really inspiring to me.

Since I shared the process for my Crow Country fanart, why not follow it up with Heartworm? This was the first one I did in that fake PSM series. This game also turned out great! I've been loving the return of classic survival horror!
