Why do midwives get involved with schemes likes these? Is it lack of awareness of the WHO Code on the marketing of breastmilk substitutes? Or is it they they believe the Code isn't important?

This study found a high degree of misinformation in social media posts (from IBCLCs & HCPs) on oral ties in babies, that used the hashtags #tonguetie #liptie #buccaltie. Only 11% of posts did not contain misinformation. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

If a #breastfeeding mother experiences challenges with milk supply, she needs breastfeeding/ #lactation suppprt. Not lactation cookies. Not auricular therapy. Not electrolytes. Not a breast massager. It's maddening how these products are being marketed on IG to bf women. #predatorymarketing
