starting a race by shooting a pistol in the air is overplayed they should start with a guy screaming "Oh, I have your attention? Great, then let me be completely earnest about my experience as a user of your site."

I'm this plus hoping atproto succeeds so hard I rarely ever look at a twitter-like social feed cause there are great app experiences for all my niche interests that still carries the underlying social aspects

Earth has two crowns - both auroral ovals were imaged by the Artemis II crew today, pretty amazing to see this perspective.

Here I have zoomed in on both auroral ovals so you can see more clearly the green emissions extending around 100 km into our thermosphere/ionosphere.

scifi prepared people to expect updates to sound like starfleet reports when its more like a family roadtrip where they're working on the rv "gotta clean the windows" "the toilet works" "solar panels could use some love"

"For the first time since 1972 during Apollo 17, human beings have left Earth orbit," announced NASA’s Lori Glaze.

It's crazy to think that no human has ever been this far from Earth since I was born, and with every passing second, the four astronauts are getting farther away. 🤯

at.fund's build page, where users see the builders they already depend on and how to fund them

at.fund's build page, where users see the builders they already depend on and how to fund them

at.fund automatically detects the tools, feeds, and labelers you use, shows you who maintains them, and tell you how you can fund them (if they've made that info available)

I would've loved more than a shout out but to hear the growth these projects have gone through, how they are surviving the protocol

there should be a rule going forward that no atmosphere report can include announcements

I believe in your ability to innovate from here, I don’t believe in your ability to give up control

so that in contrast to what they’re doing is ridiculous. in my mind they should be fostering a replacement to their influence not trying to consume existing energies and compete for the long term

I only incidentally cared about bluesky what I wanted years before its arrival was atproto

I accepted I could be wrong and tbh I was wrong thinking it could be sooner, a new space needs a confident leader and trustworthy steward, but I’ve been coming back lately to how good this would actually be

when this network had 20k users I said the best thing bluesky could do was set a definitive year it would dissolve itself

atproto seems like it’ll survive its influence but idk if bluesky will cause it not so secretly has a perspective it wants to showcase

if bluesky wants to survive its own success it needs to start demonstrating its responsive to its users

politics is better when it’s negotiated by educated good faith participants trying to theorize how we might do better and not when it’s negotiated by carnivores slicing every aspect of our humanity to achieve their short term vision

there’s something about living most your life in software spaces that when you see the scale, speed, and feel the vibration, sound of things software controls you realize the immensity of an idea
