i would in fact argue that most of the annoying behaviors people still associate with tumblr have moved to other sites like twitter or even tiktok, where teens and early 20-somethings who want to use social justice language to fight about fandom bullshit actually congregate today

people still use tumblr as a pejorative based on stereotypes from 10+ years ago even though the user culture over there has massively shifted and chilled out with age. it's extra wild when i see people who were in elementary school during the superwholock era do this. you weren't even there, man

i posted this after i had squirrel girl save jodie from being frozen in place and jodie immediately fell in love. this was like their second interaction. i told her not to do that and then they walked away together and two seconds later squirrel girl tried to fall in love with jodie

i can't tell if miis just fall in love comically easily in living the dream or if i'm still just stuck in some kind of early game tutorial phase where it's trying to speedrun couples for me because i don't have any cohabitating miis yet

the decision not to have another mass casualty event like pittfest as a climax of the season was also a very smart move to me. showed a lot of confidence in the show's moment-to-moment writing rather than setting a precedent that every season needs to escalate. they'd jump the shark by season 3 or 4

there's no big resolution scene where mel's like "wow i'm sorry, i've really learned a lot today about how i infantilize my sister and how i'm not owed a fuller life than her." the scenes speak for themself, and then she just has to sit with those uncomfortable feelings

there's also the stuff with mel. on the one hand they lean harder into implying she's on the autism spectrum like her sister. but she's also confronted with her internalized ableism towards becca rather than just being the cool neurodivergent doctor who's a little sweetie pie

of course a lot of the online fandom didn't get that and were just mad that robby was mean to their faves. but the show is better for not dumbing itself down for those fans, and i hope that trend continues with season 3 even in spite of the backlash

using robby as the easy example, season 1 kept showing those covid era PTSD flashbacks to put you in his head and explain his behavior. season 2 just trusts that you get him by now and understand that he's still struggling with suicidal thoughts as they take him to some uglier, more hostile places

having watched both seasons back to back i definitely think that season 2 of the pitt was the stronger one. most of the cast is portrayed with more messy complexity in a way i find really compelling

very basic thing i do on itunes: i have a "full albums" playlist for when i just want to browse all my regular albums without the singles, EPs, soundtracks, etc. on desktop i can easily view this playlist as a set of albums rather than individual songs. on my phone i cannot

does still drive me a little crazy all these years later that desktop itunes is still this pretty robust music library app with tons of sorting options for me to keep everything organized, and the iOS music app is as bare bones as can be due to apple's continued minimalism fetish

tomodachi life is the most i've used my switch 2 in handheld mode since getting it, just because drawing with the touch screen is so much better. it's a nice handheld when i actually bother to use it as one
