i probably can’t take advantage of lounge access as i typically arrive to the airport less than one hour before departure

but then i’d have to stick with one airline!
Amtrak Cascades sighting in philadelphia @dawe.bsky.social
bus was half empty when i rode it despite half hour frequencies. might have been the emptiest nyc bus i’ve experienced. i would have done 7-> G if the G wasn’t shut down
why is a SEPTA train using MARC coaches?
philly just has few immigrants relative to nyc or even san Francisco
it’s the U shape that confuses me, from greenpoint to sunnyside and back out to williamsburg thru sunnyside. really 2 routes, doubt anyone would ride it through sunnyside
took this bus a few weeks ago. strange route and only runs every half hour. any idea why it exists? @stephenjacobsmith.com haven’t been on a nyc bus since last june, buses are slow and subway coverage good
i had a mild dislike of big cities growing up because the busy parts of manhattan were all i knew of cities and the noise unpleasant ( grew up in nyc suburbs)
anyone know why this is abandoned? maps.app.goo.gl/DAzZ7K1xtxBB... @stephenjacobsmith.com large area too @danieltrubman.bsky.social
it appears just to be one dumb account
still my favorite nyc subway ad
townhouses sound like they’re in a complex to me. rowhouses just attached street facing units
San Jose is one of the few large “cities” with a daytime population decrease ( San Francisco otoh has a fairly large increase)
@dawe.bsky.social you know why vancouver was founded along the Burrard Inlet rather than on the shores of the Fraser (say present day Surrey or New Westminister)
the Sierra above the central valley are kinda similar but obviously the central valley is way narrower
my first rockies above the plains was from Amtrak’s empire builder. passes by glacier np so same range as alberta’s
haven’t been but i figured they’d have a similar rising from the plains as the alberta rockies. rock and shape looks similar but less steep
in 2023 when i visited the canadian rockies i was excited just to drive from calgary to the rockies and see the rockies rise above the great plains. unfortunately too much forest fire haze the day i arrived
Rockies have such a different look than the BC coastal ranges / North Cascades
the funniest end would be the us getting a cut of the tolls too. trump likes protection rackets. how is oman getting money?
East Putney
Underground, Overground
I love finding locations where you can see Underground trains traveling over Overground trains (or vice versa).
This vantage point near East Putney station has beautiful views of tube trains traveling over the railway.
nyc subway stalactite sighting, was dripping onto the platform
i wish we had more obvious wins from congestion pricing. mildly annoying to get a big lirr fare increase with congestion pricing
very Japanese punishment
jet fuel prices have risen more than many other oil derivatives as the crude used is more commonly found in the middle east ( more of us crude is better for gasoline). though i’m oversimplifying. so wondering if propeller fuel has risen less
are propeller flights affected as much by the jet fuel increase? good reason to fly to/from billy bishop @airlineflyer.net @wandrme.paxex.aero @ryanhassett.bsky.social
so early, where?
you know what peaks these are? i’m disoriented
looks so nice. i have the same snowshoes but in a different color. didn’t realize MSR made it to Europe
