Wow. A Looney Tunes movie that actually looks funny!

The way my feed has blown up with “The Onion has taken over InfoWars” posts I was a bit surprised when I stopped by InfoWars and saw that it was, in fact, still there and still spewing bullshit.
Aurebesh is silly. It’s obviously derived from our own alphabet, and it’s inevitably used to spell English words. It’s not an alien language, it’s a simple substitution code; the sort of thing that would’ve appeared on a secret decoder ring back in the ‘40s.
I love that fanboys got their space panties in a twist over Han seemingly using parsecs as a measure of speed instead of distance, but were okay with him using a decidedly Earth-derived term. (It’s calculated in part using the distance between the Earth and the sun.)
Predatory private equity firms buy up struggling businesses, load them with debt, and sell off the parts.
And the last decade has proven that there is no accountability for the wealthy and well-connected. The people in a position to solve the inequities have no interest in doing so. (3/3)
Everything is understaffed, as organizations downsize and offshore and subcontract or centralize.
And the reasons are always the same. Oligarchs seek to amass ever more financial, political and social power. Investors demand ever-rising profits. (2/3)
I don’t pretend to know what’s affecting the body politic, but I know what causes my own despair: the sense that everything is irretrievably broken. Institutions that have been around my entire life are either shuttered or transformed into something unrecognizable. (1/3)

I am convinced that’s because they’re the same people.
Every gas station in town also says it.
I *immediately* thought about Battlestar Galactica.
The serialized American version of “Journey to the Beginning of Time” was a staple of Chicago kids’ TV when I was growing up.
Or Kevin Costner.
That would be comforting if I was Kaminoan.
Georges Méliès has entered the chat.

For one specific and decidedly niche task, the Google app is a godsend. I can take a picture of a Lego piece and it will tell me the part number. It’s not 100% accurate, but surprisingly good. I find it useful when I have a mystery Lego minifig part and want to identify which character it’s from.
I didn’t get *that* worked up about it, but it did annoy me when I learned that the OG Marvel Comics run was considered non-canonical. For me, Star Wars was the three movies, the Marvel books, Splinter and the Han Solo books. (And the Lando books to a lesser extent.)
Also Dredd, though that’s not much of a franchise at the moment.
Nope, the original version was also a hardcover!
I suspect that fandom as a social identity has been around from the beginning. The “customer’s always right” thing feels like a more recent development. My half-informed opinion is that it began when creatives started interacting with fans on Usenet.
Oh, I know. And I think you picked the meatier show. I just have a soft spot for “The Invaders.”
Very much looking forward to “Land of the Giants!” (BTW, I correctly guessed the other show you were considering. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it, despite my love for the feature film.)
This was a very interesting discussion. I’d never heard of this series.
I still wish you’d done “The Invaders,” however. I know it’s not always riveting, but I would’ve loved Liz’ take on the pinkie fingers.
Yes.
They all remain despicable people, but if they give permission to the other rats to jump off, I’m all for it.
Fantastic Films was a weird publication. It had some legitimately good articles, such as a lengthy piece on the Mormon roots of the OG “Battlestar Galactica.” And then there was complete bullshit. I recall a piece where they translated what the droids aboard the sandcrawler were saying.
Do I have to?
I suspected it pretty early on. It may have been one of Pablo’s books that hinted that Starkiller Base had once been a planet from the Unknown Regions, presumably one with a lot of kyber crystals. And its location on the galactic map was pretty close to where Ilum was previously placed.
I mean, that’s crazy to think that a planet from the prequel era would be transformed into something else in a later episode.
As I recall, Boba Fett was also an “another” candidate.
In general, people put a LOT of emphasis on Boba Fett back in the day. Little did they know his entire contribution to “Return of the Jedi” would be as a punchline.
