BREAKING: Nearly 1,000 faculty members at NYU are on strike.

The union for non-tenured faculty, @CfuUaw, was optimistic about reaching an agreement this morning.

But after giving the university a 3 hour extension, the two sides could not agree, and the strike is now on.

I remember being on a flight next to a child who was screaming extraordinarily loud. I remember feeling a lil irritated before realizing that my ears had just popped. It occurred to me that the poor lil guy likely felt the same discomfort but had no idea what was happening. I would be screaming too!

I am a professor because the McNair Scholars Program showed me what I was capable of. I will fight with everything I have to make sure others have the same opportunities.
