It's done.

Although I now have all 10.4TB of streams spanning 2018-2025 backed up to an external HDD, it was kinda sad to press "delete" from their "home" on #Twitch

Am I wrong to think we shouldn't have been forced to move our memories elsewhere? End of an era. o7

$300 later… 24TB hard drive acquired. Started the process of downloading all my Twitch highlights…. All 987 files, spanning 5422h 46m of content over 5.5 years.

This is going to take a while. 🫠

Hopefully I can get it done by the April 19th deadline. 🙃

Look, I get it… online storage is costly, but please realize the absolute rug pull this is to creators who can’t afford terabytes of storage media and/or a staff of editors. Not to mention how laboriously slow the built in export/download tools are. 60 days isn’t enough.

Screen shot from my Twitch Video Producer Dashboard taken 2.19.25 after the policy change limiting Highlights & Uploads to 100 hours was announced stating that my storage limit was full and roughly 5423 hours of content was at risk of deletion after 4.19.25.

So… roughly 5,423 hours, spanning nearly 6 years of my channel history is about to go *poof* after April 19th if I can’t find the storage or have the time to export to YouTube thanks to another bad #Twitch decision. Fantastic. 🙃

Quick life update for those interested… I’m still recovering from surgery in December. Unfortunately, the abscess wound site is healing slower than expected. I haven’t streamed because sitting in my office chair is still painful. Hopefully back soon. Thanks for your patience. ❤️

Finally recovering at home following a scary week. Developed a 4cm deep abscess on my leg that lead to an infection, surgery, & hospital stay. Still need to take it easy as the wound heals & I make lifestyle changes for diabetes management. Sorry if I’m a bit quiet. Hopefully back to it soon. ❤️

Just trying my best. This has been the first overnight stay in the hospital, & my medical anxiety has always been a struggle. Hopefully on the mend. 🤞🏻

Day 4 in a hospital bed. Had surgery earlier. Blood sugar averaging in the 300s (scary high).

TLDR: Life’s been a lot over the last few weeks, & I’m trying my best to get back to streaming asap.

On the mend now with an inhaler, prednisone, & antibiotics, but I have very little energy & even the simplest things are exhausting at the moment. To top it off, we are also processing a close death in Mike’s family that we found out about last night. (6/7)
