Mise-en-scène from the sequel where the baby was clearly like, "Grarr! I like cake!"
Monster Baby is an underutilized premise.

CEO pay cuts > worker layoffs
Thinking about that time in Japan, when Nintendo was undergoing hard times, its CEO took a pay cut himself rather than layoff the companies' talented workers. That's some exceptionalism I can get behind.
A subway corridor. One visible anomaly.
Taking the subway after seeing a showing of Exit 8 is totally not worrying in the least.
One of the hardest + most important things to learn as a creative. Stop waiting to make your “opus” — keep going, get better

My favorite fictional Explosions in the Sky album.
just write it terrible for five minutes and see where it goes. or write questions to yourself into the draft—“what the fuck goes here, i don’t know, but it’s something about blah blah this will sound smarter later” is acceptable rough draft material
It's been so interesting to watch this unfold. Barnes & Noble and other big book chains shut indies down in the the 1990s (and on) and then Amazon came along and ate up all the book market share. Now people tired of big corporations are creating demand for more indies
A black and white got of Jerry and Joe doing their best Superman pose circa 1978.

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.
Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars
The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?
Reliably my favorite comic every month. Can't recommend it enough.
Gorgeous work!
Oh, thanks for the reminder to pick this up.
The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.
I'm sure there's 1000 fired employees pleased to see this display and numbers pushed so prominently. Shameful.
please understand how restrained this was for a Chicagoan
The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.
People > characters
Creators > IP
Equity > profits
Prior to his time at Marvel, Wes was also responsible for developing the design of the NCR Veteran Ranger armor. Unbelievably talented.
Honestly it's hard to believe Marvel disbanded this group. I've only worked with a few of their artists in the past, but they're all incredible.
sometimes I look at dishonored screenshots and go fuuuuck it's so good. fuck. I'll never forgive the gamers for not buying billions of copies of all the dishonored games

just want to point out that @aftermath.site has a dedicated "stupid things" tag that's been getting a real workout today, but which I feel like we've mostly wielded with uncharacteristic restraint. if something receives this tag, you KNOW it's fucking stupid

Doom is a form of mum game. Any game in which you clean the level meticulously and thoroughly before moving on and then the next time you return its a mess again is a mum game

Redraw of an old book cover, which was a redraw meme on this app six months ago. It is showing Taskmaster lazing on a bed eating donuts and reading smut. The text says 'Donuts in Bed, Take a Bite'
The cover to Blister City In the background in orange and pink tones sits a massive city, behind which orange mountains rise into a dusty orange sky In the foreground 3 punks perch on the edge of a building, surrounded by litter and soda cans. The punk on the left wears a blue jacket that says die young on the back. The text Blister City can be seen in the sky above the city.
