Is that what they call it in the UK??

I got up on time and got to see an indigo bunting up close and personal! Worth it! Awesome event by Jefferson Co Greenway
I signed up to go bird banding event at 6am tomorrow. I guess I'm really a bird researcher now ๐
Students standing in an x shape holding streamers that are going to two balloons on either side of the room which represent the eyes
Here's another look at that visual pathway so I can point out the two balloons on the doors are the eyes and the person holding all the streamers is the optic chiasm ๐๏ธ โ ๐๏ธ
A memorable way to learn!
Students presenting auditory system jeopardy
Students wearing. Fly hat and a big fake nose presenting an olfactory rap
Students holding streamers across the whole classroom to illustrate the visual pathway. Note the two disco balls were used to represent eyes
Students in my comparative Neuroanatomy class were encouraged to present the sensory pathways in a creative fashion as their group project. We got auditory jeopardy, an olfactory rap and an art installation of the visual pathway. As usual, they knocked it out of the park! ๐ฅณ (Photos with permission)๐งช
Today is decision day for graduate schools and those of you who did not get in may be feeling some feelings about it
This was a really bad year so it may not have been anything you did wrong
That being said, next year will be worse. Hereโs some advice for improving your odds next cycle. ๐งต 1/10
Pint of science is a blast, I highly recommend participating!
Pres Trump's budget proposal cuts 54 percent of the Nat Science Foundation. The SBE directorate funds 63 percent of NSF academic research -- and will be zeroed out. Devastating to research on (1) Accountable Institutions program and (2) Security and Preparedness program

Child in a space suit costume cheers with arms outstretched amidst a crowd watching the return of the astronauts to Earth
โCrowds watch the Artemis II Orion capsule splash down off the coast of San Diego at the Air and Space Museum in San Diego, California.โ

I want to know what sneakers they're wearing so badly. They look so cool!
All 4 crew members have now walked across the deck . Hooray!
I'd at least get a YEA HAW in there ๐
I can see the Artemis crew gesturing to the Navy, that must be a crazy conversation. What's the first question you ask an astronaut? "Have a nice flight?"
Awww they're all getting hugs too!!!
Aw. The commander came out last.
Again in awe that I can just sit and watch this incredible moment ๐ ๐
I get why the suits are orange now
And they're out of the capsule!!!!!! What a feeling to be back home on earth ๐ฅน๐
1.8M people watching the NASA Livestream with me ๐ฅฒ
The crew is probably glad they stopped swaying so much. Front porch getting attached now! We're close to getting a glimpse of the crew ๐
Having worked on boats before, this is just how long it takes to organize such a complex operation on the open sea. Relative to going to the Moon, it's nothing but it's still pretty dangerous and requires a crazy amount of coordination for safety
Hatch is open! First breath of unfiltered earth air in 9 days ๐ฎ
Did not realize that ๐ฎ
I sheep expecting a dolphin to pop out and check out the capsule ๐๐ฌ
Here's the full chute deployment and splashdown of the Integrity capsule containing the Artemis crew (at 1.5x speed to fit within the Bluesky video limit). Welcome home!
They've got to be feeling a little seasick by now right ๐ฌ. I'd be so antsy to get out of the capsule
That capsule is going to sit in a museum one day. This was such a cool experience ๐ฅฒ
Integrity, I think you're on mute? Just yeah click that button. Over there in the corner. Can you hear me? I can hear you? Are you on the wrong mic? ๐
I chuckled at the "are you sure you pressed the button" ah, science
Do you think splashdown forces are enough to give the crew a mild brain shake
Recovery boat is on approach ๐๐ค
Whales in the Pacific were probably like "what the hell was that?!?"
