bought a $110 wood chipper and spent my weekend cutting down privet. gotta say it beats the hell out of doom scrolling. 6 lawn bags full of chips so far, plus another pile to finish tomorrow morning.
never thought i’d be the proud owner of a PWC (personal wood chipper) but here we are
though I also wonder what the fuck this guy is thinking given his bio
by these standards, mike piazza might be the most successful product of nepotism in recent history. he was only drafted (1390 out of 1395 players) because tommy lasorda was childhood friends with his dad.
yeah the thing is that you get put on the correct path very early on, and if you veer from it your parents know how to course correct.
it’s a lot easier to conceptualize when you think that, like, the child of a ny phil musician will be able to study with good teachers from day one.
her mom is original snl cast member laraine newman.
can you post a pic of the label?
who cares?
“i called your tailor”
silver lining of drought is that i can sit on my porch without being mauled by mosquitoes. going to enjoy it while it lasts.
the rejected by the writers room plot is that the senate ends up 50-50 (actual or de facto), dems win the house, trump dies, and vance doesn’t have the votes to confirm a VP.
“big city doctor dates widowed farmer” is basically a lifetime movie plot (ignoring the bit where he grew up on the farm)
i also think santos and whitaker are written as deliberate subversions of gender stereotypes.
yeah, santos whole character arc is realizing the macho shit is hurting her more than helping. feel like that’s what the new student doctors were written in for. ogilvie highlighting that try hard competitiveness and joy having that huge moment of quiet competence.
it’s also open to constant goalpost moving and frame shifting. you could call a player on a nfl practice squad “mediocre” even though they’re in the top <1% of football players on the world. but they’re “mediocre” compared to nfl starters.
okay this is blatantly obvious now.
the other 1% is from air conditioners.
my mother in law left a camp chair she borrowed on my porch. i was too lazy to move it. now i definitely can’t. (though i’m afraid the nest is abandoned since i disturbed it before i realized)
in case anyone is looking for some, it’s called styptic… good to have on hand if you cut your pet’s nails. or you’re into straight razor shaving.
Three vintage mason jars with a script "Ball" logo.
A satellite under construction. A similar script "Ball" logo is displayed on the wall in the background.
first thing I thought seeing this was how many people were going to have to find new "secret recipes" for their frozen margs.

in the same episode where a guy comes in stabbed in the chest with an american flag.
wait the pitt writers named a guy who drunkenly shot himself in the head elbridge gerry? and he came into the hospital singing dirty versions of patriotic songs?
i fucking love this show
my dad grew up in a 1300 sqft home. he had 5 siblings. they were not poor.
today there’s an expectation that (middle class+) children will have their own rooms.
aluminum is conductive. plastic is not. you can use double insulated tools with ungrounded outlets. and you can’t ground a battery powered tool.
“but new tools are plastic and the old ones were metal!”
yes, do you know what ⧈ means?
yes, you can still buy a speed queen washer and dryer set for $2,500. yes, that’s expensive, but that’s what an entry level washer and dryer cost (adjusted for inflation) in the mid 1970s.
the average homeowner stays in their home for 8 years. median is 13.5. companies have no real incentive to make appliances that last longer than that.
