Carney is cutting $80 million a year from the food inspection agency that should have stopped this… while cutting $192 million from our public broadcaster who investigated and exposed it!

While it is good that centrists have temporarily stopped the far-right from taking power, the left must learn from its other elected figures around the world to be ready to strike when people inevitably grow tired of their quality of life not improving enough under yet another neoliberal government.
I could go on listing more leftist wins from around the world, but ain't nobody wants to read all that.
The left must win with full effort using all of the tools at our disposal. Digital, ground, and interpersonal. Only then will we be able to stop the climate and economic emergency, united.
Bold and unapologetic socialist Colombian President Gustavo Petro and his Pacto Histórico have led the country into a better future by saying no to imperialist foreign policy and fossil fuel expansion, and are leading the country through an economic emergency.

Official Portrait of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum
Under the ever-popular President Claudia Sheinbaum, the Morena-led government has enhanced life for Mexico's 99% by building on the progress of her predecessor. They have increased the minimum wage, shortened the workweek, enacted universal healthcare, and lifted over 14 million out of poverty.
We also need to look at what's going on in Latin America. While some countries like Argentina & Chile have opted to elect the right and far-right, others like Brazil, Colombia, & Mexico must be an inspiration for the global left.
In the Netherlands, the GroenLinks–PvdA alliance is rising by proposing bold solutions to address the cost-of-living and climate crises, after the Dutch chose to ditch a coalition government of right-wing and far-right parties and instead elected a centre-right coalition.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon addresses a crowd in Lille.
Leftist forces in France have made gains in recent local elections. Jean-Luc Mélenchon's La France Insoumise is showing growing momentum ahead of next year's presidential elections.
The battle with the far-right will be difficult, but if they lock in, they can win.
Cem Özdemir addresses a campaign crowd
In Baden-Württemberg, 90/Die Grünen managed to pull off an upset, forming a coalition government with the CDU. Voters in the auto industry state rejected the far-right AfD's anti-immigrant message of hate, electing Germany's first-ever Premier from its notable Turkish community.

In Canada, @avilewis.ca is leading the left's journey to pick up the pieces left by Mark Carney's rightward lurching Liberals.
Canadians elected them to stop Trumpian conservative populism from creeping into Canada, but Carney has embraced many of the same tactics and policies; the NDP is needed.
Green Party of England & Wales leader Zack Polanski speaking at a podium that reads "Bold Politics"
In the UK, @zackpolanski.bsky.social's Greens have shown that left-populism is the right way to ward off the populist far-right force of Farage's Reform UK, uniting supporters of Keir Starmer's faltering right-wing "Labour" Party, those from other parties, and those who were abandoned by the system.
A few months ago in Portugal, centre-left Partido Socialista candidate António José Seguro beat fascist Chega candidate Andre Ventura in a runoff to become Portugal's President, leaving the position in the hands of someone who will respect the constitution.

This isn't just happening in Hungary.
For the past year or so, the far-right has been losing elections to the centre, and in some cases, the left.
Newly elected Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar holds up a Hungarian flag at a rally
The far-right is declining in Europe. Today, Victor Orban's 16-year rule in Hungary came to an end, with the centre-right Peter Magyar winning.
Today is a day for celebration, but the left can't sleep, we need be be ready to fight tooth and nail when the centrists inevitibly fail.
Today marks the 150th year of the Indian Act as an archaic tool of colonialism unilaterally ruling over Indigenous people across this country.
It feels like BC NDP leadership would rather drive the party to the ground, to the point of losing government, than give power to members and admit their Starmer-style Labour direction is wrong and not working.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm not crossing my fingers.

THIS is a proper response to hearing a deranged tyrant threaten genocide against a population in an already illegal invasion; it really isn't that hard to have basic moral clarity instead of serving up cowardly word salad.

Mark Carney ran on "standing up to Trump" with an "Elbows Up!" approach, and instead, Canada got a Tory who bends down to him at every opportunity, even after President Trump threatened to commit genocide against 92 million people in Iran.
We need moral clarity, like what @avilewis.ca showed today.
There's nobody more antisemetic than zionists. They don't care about judiasm at all.
The zionist regime is back to targeting civilians in Beirut, Lebanon. They are attempting to use the distraction of their terror campaign against Iran so we don't notice their bombings of Palestine and their other neighbors.
Don't let them. 🇱🇧🇵🇸

12/ This election revealed two important insights:
1. A functional electoral system is vital for reflecting the will of the people. Without the runoff, we might have faced a very different outcome.
22/ So today, I proudly celebrate the inauguration of António José Seguro, the new President of Portugal.
21/ That’s why today, I don’t just think of myself; I think of the many wonderful immigrants I know or have heard of who are living in Portugal and contributing to the country’s resilience for the future.
20/ Ventura not only targets undocumented immigrants and non-citizens but has also spoken about the potential for retroactively revoking citizenship from those who diligently followed the correct processes to obtain it.
19/ The constitution provides protection, but like many documents, it only matters if those in power choose to adhere to it, as we’re witnessing with Trump’s actions in the U.S. and globally. The lives of countless immigrants would be at serious risk if André Ventura were being inaugurated today.
18/ This presidency means a lot to me personally, as my future in Portugal would have been seriously jeopardized if a president without regard for immigrants, queer individuals, women, racialized persons, and workers had taken office. Someone who disregards basic values outlined in the constitution.
17/ Ultimately, the Portuguese people overwhelmingly rejected the far-right. Given Portugal's deep historical ties to fascism, it brings me great joy that the populace still remembers that past.
16/ There's no need for "strategic voting" or "big tents"; that can be addressed in the second round.
15/ Thanks to a largely functional electoral system, almost all relevant parties could run candidates in the first round, showcasing a diverse array of visions for the country's future, this is healthy for democracy.
