On March 31st, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision on Chiles v. Salazar, lifting the state ban on conversion therapy.

AFSP remains dedicated to suicide prevention for the LGBTQ+ community and will continue advocating for evidence-based policies that reduce suicide risk.

Working Together to Prioritize Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in the New Year For many of us, the new year is an opportunity to refocus on our health and set new goals and routines. This year, I want to encourage all of us to make sure our mental health is part of that focus.

In 2024, we partnered with the Harris Poll to assess public perception of suicide prevention.

Today marks 15 years since we lost David. The grief of losing a sibling to suicide is complicated. But I'm grateful for the moments when we remember him, and for the community, the career, and the purpose I found in this loss. That’s the “why” that keeps me going.
