I think adding another texture to the pillars at each corner of the exterior might make it look more cohesive, maybe a gray stone texture. Adding an arch to the entrance doorway to hide the texture wrapping, and pillars in the corners of the room to give the player a sense of its shape.

I like a lot of the direction! I think the comic style dot shading might be a bit too consistent across some background elements, like the same pattern overlayed to the trees and building make it look a little jarring. Adjusting the intensity based off angle and depth might look more striking.

Can do a great job at making a player feel like they've improved greatly, the challenge of the harder encounter being followed by the subtly easier one can feel more like they've improved, and gives time to rest for the next one.
Variable difficulty curves in progression design often go undercooked, you'd expect difficulty curves to be fairly straightforward going up through the the course of a game, but rest periods after very difficult encounters or even rewarding players with an easier challenge after a harder one-
