Digital painting from my neighborhood. Copse of trees silhouetted against warm sunlight. Foreground is cool in tone to contrast with the warm light.
#PleinAirpril Day 13. Rain is gone for the moment, sun was in full effect this morning.
Digital painting of a neighborhood scene. Blue mailbox in the foreground with a tree in shadow. Street scene and market in the background. Overall lighting is diffuse and overcast.
#PleinAirpril Day 19. Neighborhood mailbox. Was very overcast this morning, really liked the way this mailbox was lit. Thought it'd be a fun subject to paint.

Yay!! Proud of you!!
Thank you, that truly means so much to hear 😭❤️
I've got a couple of new illustrations in this, done for a gorgeous piece of prose by @restingdinoface.bsky.social!!
There's no official list, but so far we've read:
Moral Ambition - Rutger Bregman
Braiding Sweetgrass - Robin Wall Kimmerer
I Who Have Never Known Men - Jacqueline Harpman
The Women Could Fly - Megan Giddings
Parable of the Sower - Octavia Butler
We Refuse - Kellie Carter Jackson
Re-read @charliejane.bsky.social ‘s incredible book ALL THE BIRDS IN THE SKY for the “Surviving Dystopia” book club I’m in. It hits even harder ten years later.
Also I’m looking forward to showing off my signed copy!
In case you need it, here’s one minute and eleven seconds of grazing with a ripe banana slug.
TV at the dentist is definitely a game changer. When I was a nanny the kids always went to the luxury dentist where you get nice things, like patience and respect 😔
I’m glad you both had a more positive experience this time!
I’m so glad you had a better experience this time! How did it go for Dez?

I gotta try that…tho I certainly won’t be ice skating 15 miles anytime soon.
And yes please no hard falls! 😂
Nice! How are your knees going to feel about it later? 😆
You gave them all the clues!!???
¿Por qué no los dos?
🫂🫂🫂
Thinkin’ bout that too
Oh nice! Love a good key lime pie.
Filing my taxes late last year only cost me an additional $100 or so, feels worth it to just wait and see how things go….
Gotta use up those bananas before it’s too late!
I think I’m going to make banana bread with the overripe bananas in the freezer instead of doing my taxes.
the problem with publishing is that you can have a 5-year plan, even a 15-year plan, but publishing can be like ehhh nvm and then you have a 12-day plan but your family and your landlord still want to know what happens past April 15th. and all you've got is 🤷♂️
