Ronin! Tried a new triad of dark greys and happy with that result. Also tried some ochres from the Dark Arts line for the sashes and it was a great combination. The lamp was also primarily a Dark Arts colour. I didn't expect to be able to use the Zorn palette so much on colourful superhero models.

Here's Echo from #marvelcrisisprotocol

I used normal blacks for her uniform, but tried a different set of bluish-blacks from the Dark Arts TTC set for her boots and leg straps and that was a nice way to add some variety to her. Now to get her on the table to kick ass and look great doing it.

The Devils: The epic fantasy sensation – prepare for a wickedly dark and twisted adventure The Devils: The epic fantasy sensation – prepare for a wickedly dark and twisted adventure eBook : Abercrombie, Joe: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

Trench Crusade is having a moment right now. If you are looking for some fiction similar to its setting, I recommend the latest novel from Joe Abercrombie, The Devils. Similar ideas at the surface level at least, so you may enjoy.

The TX-130 Saber Tank from Star Wars Legion! I haven't worked on a vehicle in a long time so this was a fun project even though I made mistakes along the way. But for now, I'm just going to enjoy it.

Got out the entire set of models I own for Star Wars Legion so far to start the basing process. Was fun to see an army sized set of models down on the table.

The Jedi Guardian from Star Wars Legion. I used off-white on the armour followed by a grey wash & then highlighting it back up. Not as much of a fan of this look despite how much faster it is compared to layering. What do you think?

This is my Jedi General model for Star Wars Legion. Tried one approach to do the white armour here which consisted of a layering approach with greys.

I painted up the Jedi Knight for Star Wars Legion! I really enjoyed having a brown toned model to paint after so many colourful Marvel Crisis Protocol models. I especially enjoyed it because I got to make liberal use of my new Two Thin Coats Dark Arts paints.

Thanks! Do you dilute the inks w/water before shooting thru the air brush?

Because the ink isn't a wash medium, does it basically stay where I shoot it? & so I need to apply it more heavily into the cracks I want to shade in?

Your 2nd paragraph, are you referring to using a wash with a hair brush?

It did let me push them across the flat surfaces for a light tinting which I did like. But not setting in the cervices without a lot of encouragement was a nuisance.

Can you tell me how else I might be able to do this effect with an airbrush? Should I have just used inks or diluted inks?

I shaded it using GW Washes through the airbrush. It didn't work so well. For one they would clog my airbrush pretty quickly. But more importantly, they didn't run as they do with a hair brush. They would just splatter and the air would push the paint around rather than let is settle into crevices.

I also used a can of matt varnish spray paint which is faulty as it creates a significant dulling/dusted effect when dried. But that's actually perfect for this scene since it would be a dusty one.

I started with the Sentinel first. After that I worked on the rubble, followed by the concrete. I didn't mind getting some rubble/concrete paint on the Sentinel because it looked like dust settling from the impact.

I was very pleased to have done 90% of this work with an air brush. I appreciate it is a large piece that makes it easier, but I was happy how well I could control the application of paint such that I could air brush next to areas already painted.

I painted up some new Size 4 and 5 terrain to beef up my tables, considering the new terrain rules in Marvel Crisis Protocol!

I got the new set of Dark Arts paints in from Two Thin Coats! They are based on the Zorn palette. Excited to slot them into the rest of my TTC collection and see how they change my paint scheme. Thanks Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy and Transatlantis Games!
