I want the Little House on the Prairie Netflix show to have all the detailed baking and butter churning scenes but I also want Megyn Kelly to fucking hate it so here's what I'm hoping for now:

The original Little House books were a response to the New Deal 1930s. A 1951 radio play of one of the books recast Pa as a brave, dutiful hero. The show was 70s social issues dressed up in old-timey clothes. Then in 2020, the books were emblematic of bread-baking pandemic lockdown survival.

Everyone is either all "it better be historically accurate" or "it better not make us feel bad about Native Americans" but what if instead this went full Bridgerton and was set in a reimagined 1870s prairie world where everyone is hot and/or queer and Pa plays Chappell Roan songs on the fiddle
