I spent nearly 4 months investigating the inner workings of a North Korean state-sponsored hacking group. Here's what I learned: 🧵
- The group used generative AI tools to aid in almost every part of their operation.
- They exfiltrated 26,584 cryptocurrency wallets from 2,726 victim systems.

Great news last week:
“President Sheinbaum signed the presidential decree on April 7, formally creating Mexico’s Universal Health Service, which she described as “a historic step” toward guaranteeing free public healthcare for all Mexicans regardless of which institution they are affiliated with.”
This is insane, tinpot authoritarian shit.

Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia—
AOC: Wah wah wah.
We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no.
What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over.
As Twitter became X, use frequency has become strongly correlated with dislike of Democrats.
The more you hate Democrats, the more you post and visit X.
LUTNICK: It is outrageous that Canada will not put US spirits on the shelf. It is insulting and disrespectful to America
SHAHEEN: They won't do it because of the insults from this president and comments like yours
Odd set of other targets too.
A cautionary lesson
A lot of hard things happen quietly.
There are definitely cultures I prefer based on my own values.
For me his primary error is believing must be an objectively superior culture because there exist objectively superior values, which he believes to be self-evident (perhaps Christian Nationalist?).
Otherwise the manifesto as quoted by Dan is pretty anodyne. (No, I'm not reading the original.)
The quotes you provided are munch less exciting than the summaries I have seen.

I’m guessing it will get published … JAMA?
I learned from every paragraph. Big effort paper

NEW: Angelo Martino, a former ransomware negotiator, pleaded guilty to helping a ransomware gang get more money — of which he took a cut — from their victims.
He was secretly playing both sides in several ransomware negotiations, and he also deployed ransomware himself with co-conspirators.
NEW: A randomized trial found that proximal hypoglossal nerve stimulation (pHGNS), an implanted therapy for obstructive sleep apnea, reduced breathing interruptions during sleep and improved daytime sleepiness. https://bit.ly/4sKvlXO
I suspect Trump has come to sincerely believe he has been blessed by God. So God will make his schemes come true.
“president learned that an American jet had been shot down in Iran, with two airmen missing. Trump screamed at aides for hours…”
Powerful men having hissy fits is more common than I once thought
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
“the person in the White House pushing for Trump’s pointless prime time address on the Iran War was “White House chief of staff Susie Wiles,” who “thought it would reassure the country that Trump had a plan.”
She’s not James Baker
Does the right to religion include right to mythology?
(This is not only a rhetorical question)
“Ukraine’s Hornets reportedly can navigate autonomously … autonomously find and attack targets…”

I have made this joke before but if you want a working definition of Blueskyism you could do a lot worse than “arriving at the airport 3+ hours early to a domestic flight and getting upset other people don’t”
when you read cultural injunctions from the past, you have to remember that some of them were written by crazy people even by the standards of their day, like this shit is.
