The Societe des Champs Elysee is a small but mighty Mardi Gras krewe. Almost all of our resources are donated by our members. Half of the dues paid go into our pantry and very generous members provide more. We report out what we have done and what we need to our membership via FB.

This is why we never take photos of the folks we feed every week. I've seen more than a few organizations exploit the homeless for their own fund raising.
Sending healing thoughts.
When I first moved to NO I rented an apt in the Hickory/Dickory/Doc neighborhood. On Saturday nights my GF and I would sit on the balcony, sipping wine, and watch the fireworks after the Zephers game.
What an asshole. Blockity, block, block.
True, I also love Redfish Grill.
My Ex and I would take the streetcar down about every six months and walk a few blocks down Bourbon St just to remind ourselves why we never went to Bourbon St. then bounced over to Royal and passed a good time on Frenchmen St.
Yes. Starts at 1.
I feel much safer now, don't you?
Perhaps I'll head down to the Quarter and see if I can militarily up a free military grade rifle in a bar bathroom.
No, kielbasa isn't a good substitute. Different grind and a higher fat content.
Tell me you don't know Jack about politics with actually saying you don't know Jack about politics.
Happy Paczki Day!
Happy Mardi Gras!
And to those of you who celebrate neither, have a pleasant Tuesday.

I'm not leaving this cocoon until Spring, you can't make me.

My Krewe is mighty, mighty. And pretty too.
This morning we got the the word that Klandry's private army was sweeping out the homeless in the Calliope area. Taking away all but the clothes on their backs. Word went out and members responded with blankets, socks, hand warmers, etc. Just got back from
Ok, shut all the windows, turned off the ceiling fans, and brought out one winter blanket. Come on cold front, don't let me down.

Ahh Mondays... Red beans and rice, sooo very nice!
I believe that I read sometime ago that they were bought by a Chinese company.
Please consider donating food to a fridge if you can. #NOLAsky #SNAP #NOLAfridges

His only "mistake" was in not masking up.
Much better first half for the #Saints.
At the very least it's good to see the Black and Gold color scheme back.

Sweet baby jebus, this team is just plain bad.

We've noticed a steady increase in the amount of folks we feed lately. They can't get into the areas that they used to build in, so many are sleeping "rough" on the street. Tomorrow I'm cooking 50 lbs of black beans with plenty of ground meat and rice.
Years ago we built a large enclosure that currently holds 2 fridges. Recently we were granted a small solar power setup. Last night it appears that some ahole decided to steal the entire solar set up.

So I'm a Captain in a small marching krewe called Societedeschampselysee. Our mission for years has been to feed the unhoused. We also fill the fridges below Canal st for the folks in the neighborhood that are food insecure. #nolasky
I've been to the CDuM in City Park, still a nice place, just not the same. I like that Morning Call serves theirs without powdered sugar so you can control the amount that ends up on your shirt. As for the shenanigans, that's par for the course at City Hall.
Tough blood draw this AM. Rewarding myself with a trip to Morning Call. I still miss the 'In the Oaks' part, but that's life in New Orleans.
