I think I'm gonna die in this smarthome
Our last feature from Issue 11!

15 days left to submit to Issue 13, which we are taking to calling our cursed issue. Limited space left, so the sooner the better
Radon will be at the Nebula Conference in June (sort of)
Meaning we will not have a proper table or booth, but Aimer, our Editor-in-Chief, will be attending as a Nebula Award finalist in the Poem category
He'll be bringing plenty of antifa bookmarks, stickers, and physical copies of Radon issues

We are proud that our Issue 10 story "The Oneiromantic Sheep" has made the shortlist for the Year's Best Speculative Ecofiction!

It may be hard to pick a place to begin, but luckily a lot of poetry is available online! Like @hugobookclub.bsky.social mentioned, spaces like @uncannymagazine.bsky.social, @strangehorizons.bsky.social, @radonjournal.bsky.social and the SFPA's own Eye to the Telescope are wonderful places to start.
"When the growth erupts, give us a call..."
@elisabethring.bsky.social's short story introduces us to Clay, a regular guy who's desperate for cash and signs up for a mysterious clinical trial.

National Poetry Month is in full bloom on the page. This poster was sent to us from the Academy of American Poets
We hope everyone's celebrating by trying to write a speculative poem a day.
Just think of how many poems you'll have to submit to us and places like Uncanny by the end of the month
The Smart Search List of the Day is: Free Verse feat. @neologismpoetry.bsky.social @radonjournal.bsky.social et al. https://duotrope.com
For our final month of reading, we're needing shorter prose works. So if you submit 1-2,500 words you'll have a higher chance of making Issue 14.
For poets, if you simply submit a poem that's science fiction in nature, you're already in the top 25%
Don't miss "The Strings and Roots that Guide and Speak," one of the most haunting stories from #11.

Was just browsing the current issue of @radonjournal.bsky.social to see what sort of writing they have, and this one hit me emotionally in a way that's tough to describe. I love it. It's pretty short; give it a read.

If you've been wondering where the best Radon content is in-between issues, it's here in our free Substack. Not only detailed write-ups on our published work and peeling back the authors, but plenty of pity paragraphs about the industry and our world.

Our author feature for Bryn Farrar's techno-bio-horror story is up on Substack! Dig the chips out of your arms....

Yes!!! It is always a treat to receive the physical copy:) Thanks again @radonjournal.bsky.social 🥰 #writingcommunity
Emma's always up to such interesting things
Note that submission databases won't perfectly line up with our current pay rates.
Most cannot display decimals (which is frustratingly odd), and so on some we will appear as 2¢/word, and others will show 3¢\word.
But know that we're now 2.5¢/word
The price of meeting the rich, aspirational version of yourself is a lot of class rage

As we enter the second half of Issue 13's reading period, we would love to see more transhumanist or cyberpunk flash fiction.
We have a fair number of longer dystopian works, and want to round out with our futuristic meat and potatoes
🙂 Smile 🙂 through 🙂 the 🙂 pain!!!
We're returning to author features and finishing up Issue #11!
@parkeriswriting.bsky.social gives a multidimensional twist to capitalist envy in "Instructions for Self Reflection."
Wonderful to meet all the Radon authors (and some readers) at AWP this past week. It's nice to be reminded that the journal we put out while scattered across the digital world has real-world impact
The introverts only emerge every once in a while, and it's nice to emerge among similar others

Our EIC will be at AWP manning the SFWA table (T346). Come by for speculative poetry talk and some Radon copies and bookmarks out of a trenchcoat
Flat lay of Radon Journal Issue 12 next to a cup of cappuccino. The blue and green cover depicts a man painting Aurora Borealis in the sky, and the cappuccino has a bunny drawn in the milk.
Radon Journal issue 12 opened on page 46 with the poem “I can’t decide what to feel about this life” by Manuela Amiouny and a cappuccino in the background.
Got my physical copy of @radonjournal.bsky.social Issue 12 last week! It’s such a beautiful issue, and I’m still incredibly happy to be amongst so many phenomenal pieces!

Huge congratulations to the two Radon poems nominated in this year's Rhysling Awards:
