A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Blake Illuminated, an artist's book by Alastair R Noble, inspired by an original piece by the artist from 2000: a one metre high, installation of an open metal book but where the text lay on the pages, slots replaced the words to enable the light to pass through. Here in this new version these slots supplant the words of the first two pages of Blake’s Songs of Experience - The Introduction and the Earth’s Answer. This work was recently re-made on a small scale as an artist’s book with hand-cut paper pages. The book allows the light to pass through and make shadows on the wall behind it.
