The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

Just had this from Planet Labs, the US government have asked satellite imagery providers for "voluntarily" restrictions on access to satellite imagery. Given a lot of them provide satellite imagery to the USG we can probably guess the outcome of not acquiescing to that request.

From invasive species tracking to water security – what’s lost with federal funding cuts at US Climate Adaptation Science Centers The people who manage America’s aquifers, wetlands, shorelines and recreation areas rely on federal science as they face new and rising risks in a changing climate.

You probably heard the US admin is threatening to break up the National Center for Atmospheric Research: but did you know they already froze funding for the 9 regional Climate Science Adaptation Centers? From tracking invasives to helping tribes with drought, here's why the CASCs matter ⬇️

Each year, I teach "Evolution of Plant Form and Function" to undergraduates - I've struggled to find good synthetic out-of-class materials - until recently. This is such a superb overview of the functional and physiological overview of land plant evolution www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSch... 🧪🌾🌐 #botany

😅 bit of a stretch to equate a local council issue in UK with behaviour of POTUS in an increasingly autocratic US.

I watched Yarvin’s Sheldonian lecture. What struck me is that he’s describing real institutional failures, but he completely misdiagnoses the cause. He treats “democracy” as the problem, when the actual collapse is upstream.

Can AI and robotics help us in many ways? I am not a Luddite — I believe they can.

But we must make sure these new technologies benefit all of us, not just a handful of billionaires.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to read my op-ed in Fox News. Let’s start the debate.
