Morning Womble! A while back, I started The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera. Then I moved house and have just found it! So, I’ve started that again and I’m not moving house again until it’s finished.

Hey! You! With the extremely hot face. I bet you didn’t know we’re making a romcom, did you?

It’s smart, it’s sexy & queer, it’s adversarial, it hates billionaires and AI, and is chock full of comedy and farce. Check out the linked pages, and if you like it, hit the preorder link in the final post?

Did the #BlueSky app enable auto play of videos in an update? Or have I just not noticed before?

Same, I don’t really know what to expect. I’m loving the use of vernacular (the right word?) to show Lampo and Gelon as two very ordinary men. They’re weirdly recognisable and their friendship oddly relatable despite the book being set in the Peloponnesian Wars! The book feels smart but accessible.

Agreed, it’s completely genuine, nurturing and the heart of what is often a heartless tale

Good Morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading and highly enjoying Intergalactic Feast by Lavanya Lakshminarayan lots to think about. What are you reading at the moment?

Decided to give Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon at and I’m glad I did. Only a few pages in but it’s already wildly witty. Devouring on the bus to work!

Fun fact: Tom Baker’s hat as the fourth Doctor in Doctor Who is the same hat as Indy’s. “The Poet” by Herbert Johnson of London. Wish I could somehow justify the $700 expense.

I'll no doubt make a few tweaks when I have looked at it again with fresh eyes, but my quartet of Blackadders is pretty much done.

In the nineties, a time when my relationship with intoxicating substances was quite different to now, I too would find myself in unexpected places, bewildered and with little idea of how I came to be there. Ditches sometimes featured. Waffles, not so much.

I think I see a similarity here.

Read books and take the bus. Can’t argue with a word of that, it’s good advice!

To be honest, I was being sarcastic for effect in my post. I’ve always taken public transport and often have a book to hand. I would much rather be UNproductive on my way to the office … I’m sure it’s better for me

Great, I’ve always wanted to turn my travel time into productivity for my employer’s benefit. No, what I want to turn my travel time in to is reading books and putting off thinking about work. Truthfully, what I want to turn travel time in to is not travelling and working from home again but, hey.

an image of two drawings, one large, and one in a smaller window. the larger one is the new drawing and the smaller is the old one. it's a digital drawing of a young woman with brown skin, dressed like a punk, with purple to pink short hair, black horns, piercings, and purple/pink eyes. she's smiling with a fang hanging out.

Hang a huge curtain along its length that’s painted on the landward side with a mural of an empty Straits to fool the Iranians into thinking there are no tankers.

Perhaps Acme have something in stock.
