Five pebbles but I made him too orange

A digital artwork depicting a lush jungle scene of twisting trunks and dense leaves. A stone ring walkway is sat atop a supporting structure of thick roots. It appears that a stone pillar may be underneath them. The jungle floor is not in view, suggesting the viewer and walkway is high above it. A raised stone path leads away from the ring walkway, curving towards the viewer's location. Three stone pillars are situated around the ring, and up through the middle of it sprouts a tangle of roots and vegetation with three large spiky petals erupting from it. At the top of the tangle is the form of a figure, entwined with or growing out of the roots. The scene is illuminated from the sun above, creating a dappled light as it cascades through the thick leafy canopy.

I do not think this is canon whatsoever, i just like this concept! Once upon a time there was a murderous slugcat who killed scavengers. The story eventually was twisted into a legend of a bloodthirsty explosive monster that coughed up bombs

Artificer as a scavenger cautionary tale/horror legend

I've said this before but yeah. Every culture has myths and legends that served as a warning or were used to scare unruly children - i like to imagine this as the reasoning for Artificer's impossible powers.
