Once we have that in place, you’ll be able to sign into Joinable with your blue sky account and vice versa, and you’ll be able to update your profile on either location.
However, I’ve been researching the AT protocol, and I really like it. We will be moving Joinable onto it soon!
When you are microblogging, do you want to reach as many interested followers as possible, but when you are sharing pictures of your kids, you only want them to go to your close friends, or a very specific group of parents, for example.
It’s a great question! I think about it all the time. The truth is that we created Joinable before we knew about blue sky, but now that I’m using them both, I can see that the network architecture are fundamentally different.

(Oh I thought of another one!) 4. The ability to create private groups and share content there. Humans have symmetric friendships and group participation, and both are part of our real social behavior. BlueSky doesn't support groups at present.
3. Focus the sharing and viewing of posts toward rich media: photos, videos, audio, files, whatever. You could do a photo dump of your trip or a video of your kid on BlueSky, but it wouldn't be a great experience.
2. Precisely control the visibility of your posts, so you know exactly who they are going to. This allows you to share much more, to be more authentic - and yes vulnerable - which is how real relationships are built and strengthened.
1. Symmetric "friend connections" instead of asymmetric "follows". Human friendship is symmetric: both people must opt into real friendship. And this changes the structure of the network so that when you post and comment you're doing so with small groups of people you actually know.
BlueSky is awesome ❤️ but BlueSky will not meet all of our social networking needs. In the past we used Twitter for some purposes and Instagram/Facebook for others. The "friend network" we need to replace Insta/FB has three key properties that BlueSky doesn't:

What do you mean? Right now employees have no way to get to build friendships or community with others. (other than a Slack channel called "fun" or "afterwork".) Joinable gives them a way to see authentic posts from their coworkers, and get to know each other. They have no way to do that today!
How’s this for a GTM strategy? Offer Joinable to employers, schools, clubs, and other organizations that are trying to build community. Help them set up a private circle, and get their members to start posting as a way to get to know each other on a much more authentic personal level. Thoughts?
