Two male PCSD officers in full-duty gear followed a group of women into the ladies room.

That should be alarming enough tbh, but since context matters — they did it because they decided one of the women (a stud / butch lesbian) was a man. 🙄👍🏼👍🏼

However, if it turns out they weren't affected by the DC BS and they just ghosted me in favour of someone else, I'll honestly be disappointed.

I'd expect more from a department structured around access, community, and belonging.

It's entirely possible they've gone radio silent because they're trying to figure out what to do about this new obstacle, in which case I am - and should be - the least of their concerns.

I keep myself from spinning out by evaluating the situation with reason and grace*, and the thing is there's a strong possibility that the EOs issued early last week** directly impacted the department the position was housed in.

Not knowing gets my self-defeatist brain roiling though, and that bitch can be a Problem to shut down.

If I wasn't chosen, fair enough. I'd figuratively shake the victor's hand, wish them well, and move on. I don't necessarily need to know why, either. I'm seasoned enough to recognize when I've likely come up against someone with an edge, and that's ok. I'm a big girl.

That was last week. I've heard nothing. And this makes me sad for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the aforementioned life-changing pay rise bit.

You see, I hate living in limbo.

Two weeks ago, I interviewed for a position - which I was invited to apply for - that fell directly into my wheelhouse and would come with (no hyperbole) a life-changing pay rise.

I felt the panel went exceptionally well, and at the end they said the candidate would be notified the following week.
