And all that'll end up doing is potentially just driving people either off socials entirely or directly to somewhere like Threads. It certainly won't bring the cryptobro types they want over here from their cushy spots on X.

My theory is they want to make the site more and more unusable to try and chase off the crowd that kept it from flaming out faster than Cohost, but they don't realize that they'd have literally no one to replace us with, so either they need to adapt to us or hope they have a backup career.

"Other wackadoodles" sounds like the most badass band name ever made.

Presenting to you: The Other Wackadoodles!

It would also be nice if they started stocking more stuff like pins and patches and whatnot. That's a market I don't see being filled much by anyone else outside of ordering 3rd party designs from TeePublic, so adding pins would be a game changer.

It's still a very bold strategy to block a huge chunk of the userbase that thinks about AI the same way that the vast majority of the actual users on this site think about it.

They really got lucky as hell that Meta dropped the ball with Threads because there's no other reason the site stuck around

Imagine being so hellbent on rigging the midterms in your favor that you manage to swing the pendulum so far in the other direction, you end up LOSING seats.

Only the highest amount of winning from the GOP.

It honestly feels like they're resenting the fact that this site only got out of invite only because of a userbase they never wanted here and they think driving that userbase off will get them more like minded people.

It's hilarious to see how short sighted they are running things.

It's finally time to get my Patreon sub back going to @sbmtg.bsky.social after I had it lapse due to my money being tight years ago.

Only $1 tier for now, but I still gotta support him and his great deck techs.

It just reinforces my idea that the staff running this place had absolutely zero to do with the app not flaming out faster than Cohost and it had everything to do with users they can't stand and Meta dropping the ball with Threads.

More and more, I honestly feel like the staff behind this website completely lucked into it not flaming out during invite only mode because Meta dropped the ball on Threads initially and nothing the staff here did ever contributed to this place taking off the way it did.

Everyone should absolutely be picking up a hobby. Mine happens to be working on 3 massive tabletop projects based on dead games plus a 4th one based on Magic.

Exactly. Mitch will forever live on.

Indeed. If it weren't the LGBTQ community in general, this site would've flamed out faster than Cohost ever did and would've never gotten out of invite only, leaving many of these people without a job to pay their bills with. They should be thanking us for pitying them enough to stay.

The staff of this site are the most terminally online people in the history of time at this point. Even the IWC aren't this terminally online.

EVEN BOOGIE2988 ISN'T THIS TERMINALLY ONLINE.

Bad news: The plant I named after Jon Moxley's WWE plant, Mitch, is no longer with us.

Good news: Mitch The 2nd has taken his place and is alive and well.

We rebuilt Mitch. We had the technology.

I got blocked too despite never interacting with them.

In a world of terminally online types, the people behind this site are among the most terminally online of them all.

That is terrifying. It's like a hydra. You cut off one head and several of them pop up again.

Indeed. Even more loser type behavior to try and do it on a platform way less receptive to that stuff like Bluesky. I can smell the stench from their posts wafting through my monitor.

I can't imagine being such a mediocre and sad person that they want to go to bat for a rich white man that'll never know their name, enough to create two whole accounts dedicated to the act.

Definitely the kind of person you cover your drink around.

The crazy part of this is how many posts I've seen trying to defend the fans doing this stuff, which smells an awful lot like tribalism.

Tribalism shouldn't even be part of the conversation here, but the IWC doesn't care about that. All they care about is "are you on the right team?" and no more.

If wrestling companies decided they were done doing as many meet and greets as they normally do because of fan behavior and fans defending said behavior, I wouldn't blame them.

Clearly, fans can't behave nor do they want to, so protect your talent by exposing them to as few fans as possible.

How unfortunate. Wonder who they'd be able to bring up in Hoffman's place.

Andrew Bash for Baseball Showdown from the 2025 season. 280 point salary, +6 control, a reliever that can be used for 2 innings, right handed, 15 outs on the card, 3 walk spots, 1 single spot, 7 double spots, home run at 27 or higher.

Certainly would be a better idea to bring in this guy from last year's AAA team, assuming he's still in the org.

I was leaning that way too. I'd rather both go away, but if I had to pick one to go first, NYT probably gets the nod still.

Really just all the kind words I've gotten for the projects I work on and being a calming presence around people.

Seems being a calming presence has made it so celebrities I do meet and greets for are extremely comfortable around me, which is why I maintain as much respect as I can for them.

Idk which mainstrean outlet I want to go first when we get out the other side of this: NYT or WaPo.

And honestly, most of the national media seems unwilling to know much about our team, so SDPN doesn't offend me nearly as much with that as the rest of them do. I'm also a little biased towards Steve since he's got a personal connection to me.

That is always the bugaboo about being heavy on bullpen usage. If your best arms are too injured to be your bullpen anchors, you're pretty much toast.

That should result in a lifetime ban from PWHL games, honestly. Either wear a different shirt or wear a PWHL thing. You can easily order one.

And if they don't do this, sooner or later, it'll result in the very prediction that Mike Johnson made last year about someone dying because fans can't behave.
