Totally get that. It’s important to have therapist have your back 100%. You and don’t work together but know I got you 100% and also all my content has moved this month forward only for trans women!

Good luck and know you can shop for a therapist. That’s why I consult first because my directness isn’t for everyone. Also what matters most is that you know trans women ARE women.
Yeah sadly most therapists follow “blank slate” model as in “I can’t share anything personal about myself.” I am not a fan of the model because a)we are all relational ppl and b)we already disclose a ton about ourselves by how we look, present or even social media.
I prefer “women with trans experience” to trans women. It puts WOMEN first. And there are so many of us. Women of cis experience. Women of black experience. Women of chronic pain experience. It amplifies our individuality without stripping off femme identity.
Thanks for context. What makes you feel nervous about responses? I find that what matters most is the relationship and I have seen less specialized therapists being amazing. You’ll know within first session if they feel right for you. And if not, you can try someone else.
Hi, did the therapist offer responses to 1&2?
My husband keeps telling about all the great reviews this book is receiving and being a book lover I had to have it. The story is so deeply familiar, not because of trans experience, which I never experienced, but because the pain echos across so many trans women I worked and work with.
