Good morning skylarks. We have the faces God created for us but the expressions on them are our own responsibility

Might I suggest Matthew 2.12: ‘The wise men went home by another route’.

To those who have been watching The Other Bennet Sister, that is not the top of Scafell Pike 🤨

Yes indeed and that’s what all sensible churches will be trying to do, I’m sure. My original point was that in order to do this you need next step up infrastructure and someone capable of managing it rather than back of an envelope, which is where greater complexity and bigger costs come in.

Something of the sort is needed. Unless we’re going to add ‘IT support person’ to the list of posts many parishes are unable to fill.

Glad I’m not the only one feeling this. It’s a wonder any of us has any time for actual ministry at all 🫤

There’s a whole bunch of things you have to do as a group of churches working together over a large area that you wouldn’t do individually. Consolidating accounts, anyone? Shared data access? Integrated diaries? Requires up to date IT and people who can operate it but I rarely hear this talked about

When the @churchofengland muses on the challenge of ministering across many churches it’s usually propping up buildings and covering services that’s seen as the issue. A more hidden problem is affording & maintaining the shared comms, data, finance & IT structures needed for collaborative working 🤔

Been there, done that 🤢

My sympathy for the junior/ resident doctors has largely drained away. Strikes are for obtaining a fair share of the goods of society not for advantaging one group over equally deserving others.

No it isn’t Scafell Pike! For almost 90 years, surveyors have been concealing the true high-point of England “for safety reasons”. [1200 words 5 mins

Most of us locals were already aware and maps showing the correct heights are available if you know where to ask.

‘A Hymn to Life’ Review: Gisèle Pelicot’s Memoir Is a Powerfully Written Feminist Manifesto With matter-of-fact precision, “A Hymn to Life” powerfully chronicles the shock of discovering her husband’s sex crimes, and the rallying cry that followed.

With matter-of-fact precision, Gisèle Pelicot’s memoir powerfully chronicles the shock of discovering her husband’s crimes and the rallying cry that followed. “It seeks a proper transfer of shame from sex-crime victims to their perpetrators, and the perpetrators’ enablers,” our book critic writes.

In other news the OH has gifted me cinnamon dusted almonds in honour of the day and this is an inspirational choice as we are giving up certain cocoa adjacent items for Lent.

The ‘shape of the bum’, yes. That beautiful heart shape of a woman’s backside. Sure to spark all sorts of ideas in mind of the beholder. Although skirts can be pretty clinging too 🤔

Interesting. What really strikes me though is that skirts don’t actually protect women as well as trousers would do. Could it be that a patriarchal society wants women’s parts to be readily accessible, whatever it claims to the contrary?

But we know where their legs are. Where else are their legs going to be? 🤣🤣🤣

For the biblical literalists out there, the first undergarments were unisex. They were called ‘fig leaves’ 😆

Good morning skylarks. A feminist question has just crossed my mind. Why do proponents of female modesty always advocate for skirts not trousers? Surely trousers are more covering and protecting of the er, parts, than skirts are?

Good afternoon clerical skylarks from the diocese of Liverpool if any. Talk to me about Larger Single Parishes. A good thing?

A minor outbreak of common sense. There’s a big difference between criminal activities which should be prosecuted and terrorism.

Here’s an odd thing, skylarks. The new ‘draft’ function appears on my iPhone but not on my iPad. Why should that be?
