Thank you! Yes I would love to make a video with more camera angles. The performer is muting different parts of the drumhead which changes the overtones of the drone that is projected through the drum. It doesn’t come across in this recording, but the effect is clear in live performances.
Thank you! Perhaps it is experimental in the sense that it uses acoustic filtering as a way to distinguish form (in a similar way to Alvin Lucier). I would say my practice is experimental in the sense that my work is an attempt to challenge the constructs of its lineage.
Thanks a lot! The piece is a guided improvisation but the electronics are set. The score is written instructions with time stamps, and the performer has a lot of freedom within these parameters.
