After President Trump said he didn’t need Elon in Pennsylvania, Musk responded that without his support, Trump would have lost and Democrats would control Congress.

incredible — Journalism won the Preakness and is neighing “Biden Old” during the post-race interview
Oliver Darcy observers: Facebook, which once acted as a firehose for traffic, has deprioritized news content almost entirely. The platform that once made stars of viral publishers now treats journalism as a liability, surfacing less of it in the feed and refusing to pay most outlets for content, even going as far as to remove it in Canada. X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has always been a small referral source for news outlets, and Elon Musk’s war on news organizations has only made matters worse. YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok offer discoverability for video-centric content, but not for news publishers that primarily relay information via text. That leaves Google search, which has long been the dependable pillar of publisher discoverability. But now, even that foundation is cracking. In recent months, executives across the industry have privately sounded the alarm to me about sudden traffic drops tied to unexplained algorithmic changes. And on the horizon is a far more existential threat: A.I.-powered summaries that appear directly in search results. These machine generated blurbs, trained on publisher content often without permission and with no compensation, will very likely decimate clickthrough rates. Why visit the source when Google already told you what it says?
Facebook is uninterested, X is deranged, TikTok doesn't do text. So how does news get discovered? Used to be Google. www.status.news/p/daily-dot-...

Please enjoy these shelter pups reacting to getting a kiss. Some are bashful, some have butterflies, and all deserve approximately 10 million more. 14/10 for all
🚨🚨🚨New conspiracy theory just dropped!!! 🚨🚨🚨
Apparently, Tory Lanez is so talented that label executives framed him so they could steal his publishing.
…and this is why I don’t engage on threads a lot. 😭

Dear Steve and Robin, Since we unionized in 2023, we have worked hard to reach a contract that honors ProPublica's mission. In order to fulfill that vision, our values of fairness, transparency and accountability must apply not only to our reporting but also to our workplace. Our proposals have sought basic contractual rights that align with those values and exist at many other unionized newsrooms. Instead of working with us to codify those rights, you have struck through many of our proposals, called for broad carve outs and delayed discussion of key provisions such as protections against layoffs and overwork. Those tactics are not in line with the ProPublica you say you want to build. In recent months: ● You have refused to allow stewards in performance meetings that could lead to discipline. ● You have resisted attempts to reform our disciplinary system, rejecting a standard approach to just cause and measures to improve transparency and clarity. ● You rejected our proposal that would ensure our jobs will not be replaced by artificial intelligence. What we are seeking is simple: ProPublica management must uphold its values in its own workplace. We expect that your proposals going forward will reflect these shared values. Sincerely, ProPublica Guild
Today, we issued a letter — signed by 70% of our unit — to @sengelberg.bsky.social and @robinsparkman.bsky.social asking them to uphold ProPublica’s values of fairness, transparency and accountability at the bargaining table.

It is horrifying no matter what — and there is still a lot to learn — but it’s particularly concerning that the Jewish PA Governor’s home was set on fire on the first night of Passover. apnews.com/article/josh...
