There is a real elegance to the sentences in Gravity’s Rainbow. More than the plot or the characters, I just remember how remarkably well written it is. Have you finished it yet?

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) kindly supported grad students like myself back in the day so I’ll drop them $1000 if that amount is raised - if you can help, PhD and Masters students along the border would appreciate it! (And I would, too!) Go Miners! #PhD

My personal favorite is Magus’ theme and the overworld theme around Zeal but I hadn’t thought about the Ocean Palace in years and you’re right…the music really puts urgency into your quest. Thanks for the memory!

Chrono Trigger boxed vinyl laying on a blanket.

Long-awaited preorder of the Chrono Trigger soundtrack arrived on Record Store Day! Vinyl always sounds amazing and this was one of the best SNES soundtracks so I can’t wait to see just how good this sounds! 😀

The Columbus Zoo is wonderful and I try to go every year - I think this year they two baby elephants? One of these days I’ll chip in to feed a giraffe because they’re such odd animals! Enjoy your capybara feeding!!

Oh, under 20 hours is perfect…I can’t do many 100+ hour games so I gotta be selective about ‘em. Keep hearing Crimson Desert is good though!

Heard it’s relatively short so I may get it if I come across it cheap in the future, but I hope it’s good beyond the demo!

Colleges usually have emergency grants or funds for student in dire needs, and it never hurts to ask. Things like, “I need $500 to fix my car” is a reasonable thing, even, for student who commute. Glad they told you about it!

Just create an Outlook or Gmail rule based on subject line to have all those sent to a folder you’ll never look at and then mass delete it all a week later.

Heh, I learned from the Woobles a few years ago. Wife introduced me to them and that’s where I got started. Which reminds me, I gotta get going on crocheting a scarf for my mom for Christmas!

What they were able to accomplish in Earthbound while not losing the flavor of the original language was really an achievement! To say nothing of those tech feats!

When a $50 gift card can’t cut it for a date, that’s a flashing warning sign that something is absurd. 😬 Still gotta see Hail Mary and Mario and that’s a quick hundo.

Highland cow tried to eat my phone but other than that had a great time touring the Picture Perfect Ranch outside of Columbus, OH. Got to feed some bay cows too! 🤠🐮 Nice date night and they had lots of chickens too, including roosters dropped off by others.

Little schnauzer giving you the side-eye after killing a rabbit on Easter. 🐣

Killed the Easter Bunny while I was weeding the backyard - not looking too guilty about it. (Thankfully I didn’t have to put the bunny out of its misery, but still…schnauzers like to chase little varmints). #Schnauzergang #DogsofBlueSky

Anything remotely controversial ~ even in the slightest small way ~ about that page? When I was in high school and worked in the library kids would randomly rip out a page or scribble on one so bad their parents would apologize.

Book 1 of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, showing greenish mountains and dark forests on the cover.

Wanted to read a real classic this year - the first half of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is 540 pages and the second half is …longer! Outstanding character studies across warring early 200s AD China, it is big and intimidating but very engaging. Cao Cao is such a character! (2/5) #Booksky

Only annoying thing about Earthbound is suddenly needing one of the erasers when you saw no reasonable need to carry it around in your inventory any longer.

Cover of Leviathan Wakes, showing space ships above a planet.

Book I finished in 2025 that I didn’t mention (one of many, which I should correct) - Project Hail Mary got me remembering it! Great read that pivots between solar system political intrigue, a mutating virus, and space combat, it really hit all the marks for sci-fi! Recommended! (32/40) #booksky

They look cute, but they dig holes. I hate spraining my ankle while lawn mowin’, and so every year it’s time to fill em in. It’s the cycle of life, until the heat death of the universe. #dogsofbluesky #scnauzergang

Sunscreen goes a long way to keep people looking younger than they are. Good advice from the wife 10 years ago cause she’s fond of me.

Good luck - remember, if the job application portal is ancient or seems homebrew or is otherwise terrible and clunky, that probably scared away other applicants. Fewer competition if you desire to put up with it and apply. Good luck!
