I was in Big Sur today. One of the tourists I saw was the spitting image of Ted Cruz - same hairstyle, beard, paunch and smug smile - he was taking tourist type photos with his traveling companion (wife maybe?) and their dog.
Unless his job is a Cruz impersonator, why wouldn't he change his look?

Damn @tvaziri.com, you got me to watch it again - though I'm still heading to bed before midnight (and it's still a great watch) - so no complaints, thanks!
Santa Cruz is closer, maybe they'll show cut away shots of the Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster at the Boardwalk or the Wharf (and maybe they won't)
I found out today that the upcoming World Darts Championship is on Peacock this year - coverage starts tomorrow and runs through the New Year - something else well worth a watch (in my book at least).
I mean, it was your fault - I thought it was coming out on Friday until I read your earlier post about it being 9pm ET today - I was 52 minutes into episode 1 when it all went pear shaped.
When it's used to match whale fluke (tail) photos so that we get a better understanding of global whale populations with a non-invasive research technique (humans are still used to confirm the AI's results)

Whenever I think of an actor who is destined to run at some stage of a movie, Dustin Hoffman always springs to mind, but I admit I haven't analyzed his movies to know if that's an anecdotal thought on my part or a statistical fact.
A portrait head shot of an adult California condor 692's head looking downwards with his body providing a dark backgrop to his colorful head. 692 was in the wild when this photo was taken. Please note that I was not as close to 692 as this photo might suggest. The photo is a heavy crop of the original photo which was taken with a telephoto lens. I was lucky enough to accompany the field biologists, vets et al on a recent "handling" day, where trapped birds were given health checks, new tags, and HPAI vaccinations before being released back into the wild. This activity often attracts other wild birds that come in and land on top of the flight pen to see what's going on and that's when I was able to take this photo.
Normally associated with Pinnacles NP, California condor 692 (and other Pinnacles regulars) were among the many wild birds that showed up at the VWS sanctuary in Big Sur earlier this month when I was lucky enough to be there too.

An adult California condor, 692, with wings outstretched and feet dangling, is about to land on an unseen spire. The white background to the image is caused by bright clouds behind the bird. The only background is the bright clouds, making the photo look like it might have been taken in a studio, but it was taken in the wild, in the High Peaks area of Pinnacles NP.

A head and neck portrait shot of California condor 966 looking down from her perch on top of a volcanic spire. Condor is looking towards the camera with her neck ruff feathers up behind her head and on her neck. Photo was taken with a telephoto lens and then heavily cropped, she wasn't as close as she appears to be.

I really enjoyed it but had one tiny note that caught me at the time of watching - when Gemma and Helly both see Mark for the first time when he's covered in blood, neither ask him if he's OK. Even if it's a "are you OK/yes I am" (which could have been a running gag), I'd have been happy.

The only opening credits I currently don't skip - the music is awesome. I really like it when they incorporate some version of it in the closing credits too.

The condor recovery program is already being hit by the capricious and arbitrary firing of federal staff, losing qualified, passionate folks along with their domain expertise.
Her termination is so the opposite of improving "efficiency" - not that efficiency was ever their real goal, just the cloak they're hiding behind.
So far I know of one colleague who was "fired" - and will lose her housing too. She'd worked with condors for 5 years, but only transferred to a full time federal job less than a year ago, therefore probationary, and now terminated.
Total waste of her talent, dedication and knowledge. So arbitrary.

Formation flying!
Things lined up just right to capture this photo of 726 Little Stinker and 966 Pixchi as they cruised around the High Peaks area of PNP a few days ago (3rd member of their trio, 692, was in the area too).

Call me biased, but as fun as it was to watch those Eagles touchdowns on Sunday, I don't think anything can beat a good California condor touchdown!
