Happy to be home after two fantastic (if intense and exhausting) conferences @ischp.bsky.social in Galway (🙏 @chris-noone.bsky.social) and @qmip.bsky.social 20th anniversary in Leeds (🙏 @philippacarr.bsky.social & Candice Whitaker). V hard to get downtime as too many good sessions/streams.

🥰
And in a blink, that's complete. 😁
Thanks to everyone who came to my talk and the super thoughtful questions!!!

One of our brilliant Associate Professors @drsimongoodman.bsky.social talking at #QMiP2025 about how Jewish identity is managed in talked about in online conversations about Jewish support for Palestine #Conference
I loved the mention of @objectionablejoe.bsky.social band ! The rest of the talk was great (duh) but that made me giggle.

Getting closer to presentation time. 😬
#ZineResearch #QMIP2025
thank you for your presentation, it was truly amazing and brave :)
I could get lost in shame at having become emotional/teary at the end of my presentation (v unexpected that’s not happened before!) but I’m not gonna! Big deal to talk about stuff connected with suicide loss in a busy room. Thanks to all who listened and subsequently chatted. #QMiP2025 #AcademicSky
Another talk by @drsimongoodman.bsky.social at #QMiP2025 this time about using open qualitative data for research #QualitativeResearch
Fantastic keynote speech by @ginnybraun.bsky.social at #QMiP2025. Lots to think about! #QualitativeResearch #ReflexiveThematicAnalysis
Lovely couple of days catching up with quali folks at the Qualitative Methods in Psychology Section #QMiP2025
Another great talk at #QMiP2025 - and sorry @drsimongoodman.bsky.social that my question was slightly off topic! #AnnoyingConferenceQuestions
This is paraphrased and not run through AI, so it is my own interpretation of Virginia Braun's keynote speech at #qmip2025 conference ;)
In his keynote, Paul Flowers highlighted the use of logic models—within qualitative intervention development—as a key tool for building team consensus, supporting theorising, and shaping commissioning briefs. #qmip2025
It's QMiP conference time! #qmip2025
Really great, fascinating presentations on psychological wellbeing of theatre actors (Jonathan Hashmonay) as well as self-diagnosis (Natalie Rodax) at this morning’s #QMiP2025 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
One of Paul Flowers’ concluding points in his keynote was the importance of supporting the next generation of qualitative researchers. I think mentorship from more experienced researchers is very advantageous—not only for early career success in academia, but also for achieving impact #qmip2025
Another great talk this time by Dr Madeleine Pownall @maddipow.bsky.social about open science and qualitative research @ #QMiP2025 Absolutely agree that open science is not new and it's been part of at least some forms of qualitative research for decades #QualitativeResearch
Definitely yeah nah for reflexive TA (and qual more widely). Gen AI discourse is productive. Be wary of what’s being produced as we discuss Gen AI (to support or resist) - but resist ✊🏼 #QMiP2025
We're at the Qualitative methods in psychology conference - Another opportunity to share our approach to doing co-analysis with young people as part of our Agency-In-practice project 👌
Let's goooo! #QMIP2025
Michael Larkin also discusses AI in qualitative analysis. Similar to Virginia Braun’s points, "we" are the instrument of analysis. AI simply identifies topics that are spoken about; it is not performing analysis, and we need to resist the idea that AI is doing an analysis #qmip2025
Final early start of this academic year. Looking forward to my first time attending the BPS Qualitative Methods in Psychology conference! #QMiP2025 #AcademicSky
Some highlights also included a beautifully nuanced talk on AI and qual methods from @ginnybraun.bsky.social, a thoughtful and powerful discussion of lived experience and identity in research from @heathermsutherland.bsky.social, and a collaborative talk from @mcpinypnetwork.bsky.social #QMIP2025
Braun says no (yeah nah) to AI. That coding and analysis is a human endeavour. Coding should not be thought of as a laborious task that needs to be completed quickly and “free from bias”, but rather as a worthwhile, enjoyable, and creative experience, where we are the interpreters #qmip2025

What a wonderful few days at the QMiP Conference 2025! 💫
We are leaving feeling inspired, energised, and proud to be part of such a vibrant qualitative community :D
A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, presenters, organisers, and attendees! you made this conference truly special.
I had such a good time at my very first @qmip.bsky.social that I forgot to take any photos! It was an honour to present and wonderful to meet so many like minded qualitative researchers. #QMiP2025
