I found that Vallejo Dipping Formula (black) works really well as a wash. And it leaves a nice satin finish.

My SoH infantry are all painted German Uniform and then washed all over follower by sponge chipping (and some oil washes on dreads).
They simply don't understand!

Frostgrave has the "Livesteal" spell that removes 3 HP from the target model and increase the wizard's HP by 3 upon a failed willpower roll. Cannot be used against undead, demons and consturcts. *Can* be used on your own models (which in turn leave your party immediatly; if they survive.)

Horus Heresy had a vehicle upgrade "Armatus Necrotechnica" that let you regain one hullpoint for every model that died within 6" of the vehicle. (It also reduced leadership by 1 for every unit within 6".)
