Gabriel Zucman argues that empirically, with the right controls, 🇪🇺's economy does no worse than 🇺🇸 since 1990.
It is noteworthy, but not because doing better or worse than 🇺🇸 should be so relevant. Rather, because it highlights that 🇪🇺 is in a remarkable era of healthy expansion and growth.
It has become received wisdom in Brussels and Washington that there is a new “euro-sclerosis”: that the EU economy is lagging the US

Rechts + centrum = 71 zetels = geen meerderheid
Centrum + links = 77 zetels = meerderheid
[En ja het is mij bekend dat je partijen ook anders in blokken kan indelen]
Welke partij wordt de grootste: bookmaker Polymarket laat zien dat er vandaag veel verschoven is.
I’ll just keep my papers within 10 pages then!

Check out the video of Stéphane Bonhomme's brilliant Sargan Lecture on feedback and heterogeneity in panel data at the 2025 RES Annual Conference in Birmingham #RES2025 @resmedia.bsky.social #EctJ
In Stéphane's words, let's get "Back to Feedback"!
