These are the same Senate Democrats who lectured the base for years about the importance of preserving the filibuster so it would still be available when Democrats were in the minority

As far as I understand it, 10 Democrats voted for the Republican budget because, if they didn't vote for it, there might be a government shutdown which would give Trump the power to fire federal employees and shut down agencies -- TWO THINGS TRUMP AND MUSK ARE ALREADY DOING ON A DAILY BASIS
it just seems like we’re being held hostage by elected officials whose political instincts are rooted in and entirely shaped by jimmy carter losing in 1980
They're *already* shutting down large parts of the government and, as an added bonus, inflicting permanent damage on other parts of it.
Shutting it all down would be a *better* route, honestly.
All you've done here is give a bipartisan stamp of approval to their agenda of closures and cuts.
Now it’s abundantly clear why your staff don’t answer the phones and you don’t have voicemail. You were always going to cave. You’ve lost my vote and I will support Juliana Stratton. I hope she primaries you if you don’t retire. You are feckless, spineless, and a disgrace.
It is amazing how fucking awful @schumer.senate.gov is at his job.
