I definitely had this game but have very little recollection of it. I think it's like a fire emblem or valkyria chronicles format, turn based with strategic movement around a map and a large party. I'm pretty sure i thought it was kind of mediocre but didn't get that far

I am confused about this. Spent time in japan and vietnam recently, where are all the bugs? It's not just Tokyo, even more rural areas I'm amazed at how few there are. I'm beginning to think the US is just Mosquito Hell

Definitely feels like they have lost the plot. The focus on doing 5 second long invulnerable animations was always kind of antithetical to what i feel doom should play like and they're only leaning more into it. Also aesthetically looks like shit when every enemy explodes into 1000 colorful bits

I feel like maybe we need to go back to the days where you were pulled into the general's tent and disemboweled if you fucked up this hard twice in one week

If I remember correctly you come back to that general area a lot to talk to a kupo for a sidequest, so eventually you have a reason to be there and are high enough level to fight the dragons up there. I don't think there's anything else there though, it's just a grinding spot afaik.
