Tune in to JAZZZ tonight !!! datafruits.fm/chat @datafruits.bsky.social
after a half decade of hosting The Jazz Program on @datafruits.bsky.social, it has finally happened:
i have finally made an account on discogs so i could snag a rare groove off a seller because i could not find it anywhere
you would think this would have happened years ago but here we are lmao
i cannot underline enough how happy it makes me to see my flowers again <3
A flowering tree on the streets of Madison, WI, blooming in bright white and vibrant greens.
the blooms are finally here

The Butterworth Trail in Moline, IL, covered in dramatic tree shadows. The Centennial Bridge is visible in the background.
Another shot of The Butterworth Trail in Moline, IL, covered in dramatic tree shadows. The shot is of a fork in the trail that leads to a sittin' area in front of a large driftwood tree trunk.
A goose slowly walks down the banks of the Mississippi River.
The Centennial Bridge, viewed from slightly down the trail. A small boat is visible on the water.
took a break from the grind and visited my mom (the Mississippi River) the other day
if anyone wonders why my favorite colors are blue and green, it's because sights like this are what i grew up on

a file listing in the Thunar file manager, listing 23 straight installments of Clippings for Assigned Media
one more strip to go and that makes two full years of Clippings. just need to write some interstitial pages to explain the thought process and compile all my sources for a bibliography in the back of the book and we'll have a stew goin', baby
more details about the print compilation soon

singing to myself in the shower this morning and vaguely Reminiscing about that time i turned The Cure's "Lovesong" into a funeral dirge
cinderellasuicide.bandcamp.com/track/loveso...
i gotta get back in the studio and record some shit again dawg, i miss it
(and yes, all vocal tracks are me)
the March installment of Clippings is now up on @assignedmedia.org. this month, we're taking a look at the life of trans actress Aleshia Brevard
we're also returning to the old 3-art-3-text panel format Clippings started with! Feb on the left, Mar on the right. which do you prefer? comment and lmk!
Tom Jones' "The Lead And How To Swing It". the cover art features a very muscular Tome Jones, dressed up like a gothic Tim The Toolman Taylor complete with mesh wifebeater and what appears to be satin-lined blue jeans, screaming his lungs out. behind him is a...Viking lady? in a chainmail bikini??? the text is in a typewriter font. look man it was the 90s and it's Tom Fuckin Jones i dunno how else to explain this
also i now own a physical copy of The Jazz Program's favorite crooner's most unfortunate cover art
honestly i could have just made our April Fools' show's theme *only* about Tom Jones and still picked five records worth of inordinately sus album covers
love that man so goddamn much
a stack of CDs in a plastic baggy, with an Art Porter record on top
back from the record store and happy to report after an hour of crate digging in the dollar bin, giggling at terrible album covers, and getting told to stop making noise and to buy something or get the fuck out by the lame ass mgmt
we now have like, at least two months of The Jazz Program sorted :3

admittedly sci-fi is not my wheelhouse even in my own comix work (i tend to stick to psychological or gothic horror when i'm not doing graphic journalism/non-fiction) so these are all actually new names and now i have them in my notes for future Clippings!!
The cover art for INX comic, issue 12. A trans woman in a shoulderless dress with a visible Adam's apple and curly hair tucked behind her shoulder gazes into the camera, with leaves and flowers flowing upwards behind her. The moon forms a makeshift nimbus behind her head, and the text at the bottom says "See you in starlight...", a reference to the Interpol track "Stay In Touch" from the album "Marauder", which I was listening to quite a bit at the time.
going through some old illustration work again while getting the portfolio settled this morning
cover art for INX comic issue 12. greg russell, editor. pen and ink with digital screentones, 2021.

i do my job from time to time :)
i'm sure there's a couple other names hovering right off the tip of my subconscious but i am about to head to the gym before my shift, so if i think of any while on the treadmill i will add them in here once I get back. good luck on your panel, friend <3
